The Unofficial Ed Yerke-Robins™ Fanclub's Interests
General
FILM!, Fine Friends, Finer Wine, Freak Shows, Guitar Hero, Hiking, Indie 103.1, Karaoke, PA'ing/Schlepping, Punk Rock, Record Collecting, Screenwriting, Volunteering at Art Galleries, Working Out, and many, many more. You'll just have to ask :)
Music
If it does damage...
...or slaps hard, you're sure to find my head bobbin'.
Troma films (Poultrygeistcoming soon!), Hindi films, David Cronenberg films, Jim Jarmusch films, John Waters films, Chopping Mall, Takashi Miike films, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Battle Royale, Blood Freak, Suspiria, Requiem for a Dream, Freaks, and lots others I'll list later. But horror/exploitation/trash is a good place to start, though I'm a big fan of the snootier stuff too, although I suppose I'll watch anything, now that years of film school and critical thinking have given me the ability (curse?) to find something worth talking about in any film, even if it bores you to death. Or you can just check my DVDAF list.
(note: I haven't updated this section since I first created my MySpace profile. I should probably do that some time.)
Television
I have a TV, but we don't have cable or anything. Here are some TV shows we own on DVD:
Arrested Development
Boondocks
Coupling
The Critic
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Flight of the Conchords
Futurama
Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law
Sealab 2021
Seinfeld
Venture F'n Bros!
Other great shows that for some crazed reason we don't own include The Simpsons (bonafide American classic - we rent if often and quote it daily), Extras (is he having a laugh?), Lucky Louie, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Drive (never got a chance, but had a great b-movie feel), Six Feet Under, House, The Riches, and I'll admit it - I'm a sucker for old school Springer and those awesomely vapid VH1 line-ups.
Books
Like many Americans, I'm a second-order illiterate. I'm trying to get back into reading (amongst many other things), but it's difficult.
Recently, I've read Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (amazing!), Terry Pratchett's Moving Pictures, Raymond Chandler's The Big Sleep, and am (very) slowly but (just as very) surely trudging my way through Mark Z. Danielewski's House of Leaves. I've also burned through just about every Fables, Ultimate X-Men, and Marvel Zombies trade in print. Also, Alan Moore's Watchmen is fantastic. Read it again before Hollywood mucks it up!
Heroes
...and everyone else with the focus and courage to create. One day I will make you proud.

Every day for 44 years, the German writer Karl Wilhelm von Humboldt composed a poem for his wife, the lively and brilliant Karoline von Dachroden. In accordance with your astrological potentials, Aries, I will ask you to briefly imitate his prodigious outpouring of creative love. Every day for the next two weeks, please find it in your wild heart to make a sublime, or at least gorgeous, offering to someone or something you adore.
