EDSON OLIVEIRA was born in 1950 in Duartina, São Paulo, Brazil. He grew up listening to Bossa Nova as a teenager, and cites Bossa Nova masters Antonio Carlos Jobim and João Gilberto as major influences.
In 1985, Edson earned a degree in classical guitar. In 1997, he moved to the United States where he has performed Brazilian music for the last eleven years. He currently lives in Eugene, Oregon. Edson performs in theaters, clubs, restaurants, bars, fairs, and private events, both as a soloist and with his band SUN BOSSA. He plays with some fine American musicians, such as saxophonist Tom Bergeron, pianist John Polese, guitarist Gary Lomprey, trumpetist Tim Clark, percussionists Kimberly Cullen and Pat Morgan, and bassist Mike Hatgis.
Edson recently released a solo CD, titled "Edson Oliveira Plays Antonio Carlos Jobim". This CD will soon be available on Internet for purchase.

Edson se formou em violão clássico em 1985. Ele se mudou para os Estados Unidos em 1997, onde se apresenta tocando música brasileira. Ele vive atualmente em Eugene, Oregon. Edson se apresenta em teatros, clubes, restaurantes, bares, feiras e festas privadas, tocando como solista ou com sua banda SUN BOSSA. Edson toca com músicos americanos de grande quilate, tais como o saxofonista Tom Bergeron, o pianista John Polese, o guitarrista Gary Lomprey, o trompetista Tim Clark, os percussionistas Kimberly Cullen e Pat Morgan, e o baixista Mike Hatgis.
