I play in the Silver City area with two bands: THE GYPSY FEET BAND (with Charlie Alfero, Shems Nickles and Greg Renfro) and THE LOW BID QUARTET (with Greg Renfro and Scott van Linge).
I am working on a variety of new music with a strange mix of friends and fellow travelers, scattered all over the world. Some are musicians, some are lyricists, some are kindred spirits and well wishers. Javaid Qazi, better known as Qazimojo, the Paki Mullah, the eccentric and wonderful Harper John, and Uncle Steve McPhail have been wonderful collaborators for many years now, and, in the last couple of years, Frank Milan has been another source of inspiration, and good lyrics and music. Recently I reconnected with an old friend I shared a studio (and some adventures) with, Guy Prentice. We are writing some wonderful songs. Each of these fine people has a different perspective and is great to work with.
Influences
Bob Dylan, Charles Ives, Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, Big Bill Broonzy, Antonio Carlos Jobim, George Gershwin, Benny Goodman, Stan Rogers, Lonnie Johnson, Sue Foley....
Sounds Like
The soft and mournful cry of a ship's whistle in the fog.
I am a songwriter and composer. I've been making music since the 60s, and work in a variety of styles. I am collaborating with a couple of excellent songwriters on some songs, and I create music for videos as well.
My new solo instrumental CD, BLUE LIGHT,has just been released by Morrhythm Records. You can check it out at their web site.
I've performed at the Silver City (New Mexico) Blues Festival (twice), at the Tucson (Arizona) Folk Festival in 2006, at the Glenwood Folk Festival in 2003 and 2005, and frequently appear at various clubs.
One of my tunes was used by Discovery Health Channel in 2005. I composed and recorded the underscore and theme song for a documentary for a nonprofit organization, called Oceans of Opportunity.
Most recently I started working with filmmaker Patric Michael. Here is our first effort--a promotional video we did for a new book by Annette Blair, coming out soon. The wonderful Jodi Krangle provided the voice over.
If you need a custom video, send me a message and we can discuss what you need.

I am so very pleased to meet you. Your music is absolutely beautiful!!! Wow! You know what would be amazing? It would be amazing if you recorded an original (your own music and lyrics) version of the song "All We Need Is Love."
