Born in Keyport, New Jersey and moved to York, PA when I was 4... so I pretty much grew up in York. I graduated high school and hit the road traveling the country and touring with the Dead.

Since I was a toddler, I was playing music, some how or another... I started officially on piano when I was 8, then moved to guitar at 13.... Since then I've picked up many other instruments along the way including: Mandolin, Drums, Bass, etc....

I got my first paying gig in 1994, filling in with Don Carn and some other local musicians at the Granfalloons in York, PA. I then started playing out live in bars and clubs around York, PA with a guy named Jim Topper. This became the Jim & Ed Show.

Over the years, I've created other bands including:
•the Boogiemen (Ralph Weyant, Sam Panther, and myself)
•Flow (Jon Van Wicklen, Victor Wueschinski, Joel Venditti, Bill Huff, and myself)
•Textured Groove (Tony Aguirre, Gus Aguirre, Jared Mills, and myself)

In 1998 I started a website called KindWeb and since then it has grown into a very popular portal for KindFolks all over the world (www.kindweb.com)

In 1999, I released my first CD (Carved in Stone). For 10 years, I played regularly and finally took a well needed break to start my family as I turned 30. ((www.edvanwicklen.com)

At 30, I married Desiree (Ketrick) and started having kids. My first child, River Edward VW, was born 2/20/05...and my second, Tavon Bradley VW, was born on 12/10/06.

At this point, I'm focusing mostly on being a good father and having fun in life. I've been working on my new CD for a few years now, but it's taking a while due to having the kids. I plan on releasing it as soon as I have some time to get back to recording...but right now, I'm just having a ball being Daddy-O...
