Born in Windsor in late 1987, Edward Bell has been writing songs since 2002. While still perfecting his style, Edward is heading in a clear direction; direct, vocal music.
New songs include the rocky 'Gravedigger', the clear and melodious 'Better for the Rain', and the jazz-funk '21'. All are testament to a new chapter in Edward's career, having recently been given an Album Deal by Slicethepie.com, a fan-funded website.
Montmartre was written as an observation on the lack of focussed creativity in the world, as seen in Montparnasse and Montmartre in C19th Paris.
Autumnal Goodbyes is a curious insight into why a woman was crying on the 17:29 from Waterloo.
The River was written in a moment of seclusion and claustrophobia and aimed at institutionalism.
Two Continents was written for a then girlfriend who was travelling around South America while Proud was written on a plane coming home from an eventful trip to Florence.
All of these hope to present a subtle lyricism no longer commonplace in the charts, a Nick Drake influenced attempt at binding nature to man, and through all this, Edward was still called 'unpretentious' (!!!) by Linda Serck of BBC Berkshire's hit show, The Session.
...you have to wonder.
