CIAN NUGENT 'Childhood, Christian Lies & Slaughter' CD Cian Nugent is a 19 year old guitar player from Dublin who combines squicky pre-war blues, Appalachian string band music, and the Takoma school into a deeply personal style. This cd documents a great live set, produced by Jozef Van Wissem.
I like the new tracks. Particularly the first one -- great subtle use of effects there. The echo tugged at my attention at various points in the track but it was too subtle to hone in on -- very tasteful, and enhances a mysterious quality already in the piece. It's great how patient and still the music is, yet it moves along. You're getting a beautiful sound out of that guitar, too. Thanks for posting these!
