Hicks is of no fixed abode in all senses. After years of playing just about every genre under the cracked sun in any dive that would put him up, he gathered together a handful of car-boot finds, dirty pictures and tattered keepsakes and embarked upon his quest to personally craft the true ‘old-core’ sound. On record Hicks seems to come from some place where Howling Wolf, Harry Partch, Nick Cave, Rick James and Chet Baker still hang with the old delta Blues players.
Last year, had many highlights for Hicks. He played at War Childs Scala show and won the Field day Battle of the Bands competition, which saw him open up the days festivities. He has also played in Drums of Death’s band of not so merry men (and woman), appearing on Rob Da Banks introducing show.
Edward is currently recording and writing for his debut EP release due out Summer 2009.
