About this Album
This album was almost never made. I have been composing the tracks on this album individually for years and they represent my favorites. However, these songs are what I would call from my “old school” compositions and were never meant to be compiled. But I wanted to represent them in some sort of way and I wanted to share them with you, as is. These tracks have not been modified from their original recordings (except for some EQ and Volume tweaks). Why? I knew that I would not want to revisit them ever again but I didn’t want to completely discard the ideas. Frankly, I think that it represents some of my best musical ideas to date, even if they aren’t the best recordings! So I’m giving them away. Yes, giving… All the tracks of this album are available to anyone online and are free to download, distribute, share, listen to, rock out, use in you’re movie, play, video, etc (as long as I get credit for the composition). Why? Because music sets me free so it’s my gift to you. So I thought I’d give a bit of an overview of these tracks and how they came about. Fight or Flight has become one of my favorite songs. It’s the most recent and the only track I have actually tried to rap on (thank God). In Walls of My Room, Nick and I were trying out for a producers audition and this was our audition piece. The Things I Don’t Say was an anniversary gift to my wife. I stands as the only song I’ve every written about her. I decided to bring back an old track and rerecord from scratch and the end result was Ricochet as it appears here. My Beating Heart was a track that was meant for another artist but I liked it so much, I recorded my own version. I decided to take an idea another musician had given me and turn it into a song. Here all my original superstitions came to life in Knock on Wood. In an effort to redeem ourselves from and old recording we made Mayra came over and blew me away in Your Poison. Jeesely begged me to do it so I put on an oldie as the last track, Lost the Connection.
