Review
"Drawing on his years in the gritty DIY punk scene, and dredging up universal memories of bleak, grey childhoods, Micky McGuinness has penned a deliciously grim and nihilistic collection of hard-nosed crime fiction, peopled with the sort of realistically nasty characters we might all have grown up with living next door to us... shining a light into the darkest recesses of the subconcious where REVENGE is king, this is an impressively memorable body of believable work that will stay with you long after the last bloody act of retribution has splattered the final page..." --Ian Glasper author of Burning Britain and The Day The Country Died.
Review
"Authentic fiction that evokes a period, only twenty years ago, that now feels lost. Whether it's bands touring Europe for the price of a beer or kids feuding during a warm summer, McGuinness captures the era in a way that feels honest..." Lee Smith: Black Flame Books
Review
"Gritty, hard-hitting, no-nonsense missives fuelled by endless hours on the dirtiest roads and in the dirtiest bars, bringing to mind the fine tradition of Kerouac, Bukowski and Thompson. A juggernaut that can't be stopped once it gets rolling." Kunal Nandi : SuperFi

Some of you might have noticed that I have disappeared from the punk rock forum world and MySpace; that is partly because I have been busy writing fiction and setting up a micro publishing business; no I’m not going to be publishing really small books! “Micro” because I’m going to be publishing a relatively small amount of books per year… small that is compared with the big boys.
The first title is *Blunt Wound Trauma* which is an anthology of my own short stories. I’m hoping to have this available by the end of January 2009; so hang onto those Amazon Vouchers that you get for Xmas!
I’ll do another update when the publication date is firmed up; in the mean time you can check out my web site for further info. Gibboncore
For those of you interested in Jinn; we are still going… we even played a gig on Saturday, 2009 will bring new recordings and maybe even another Euro Tour.
Cheers
Micky
One by One were born from the ashes of a quirky folky punk band called Anything But That.
When Anything But That split, Alec and I decided we wanted to do something with a harder edge… we couldn't think of anyone in Newcastle that we wanted to be in a band with, so we quite literally jumped in a car one Saturday morning and drove down to Leeds and door-stepped Sned.
That same day we got about six songs worked out in the cellar of Silly Ville and One By One was born.
It was never going to be easy as apart from there being a hundred miles between us, Sned was also drumming in Pleasant Valley Children as well.
What happened next:
We recorded a 7”, recorded a Peel Session, jumped in a van and toured Europe, I fell in love, we recorded an LP and Sned went off to live in New Zealand for 6 months.
On his return we recruited my beloved Karin on vocals, recorded a split LP which never came out, recorded a 7”, toured Europe a few times, went to the USA on the Hoover Free Flights offer, and did a very short East Coast tour, which saw us break down and have to cancel half the gigs, and played a live radio show. Came home, went round Europe again recorded an LP which never got released, and then split up.
Karin and I went on to form Ebola, we have two children together, and I still play guitar in Jinn.
Alec and Sned continued on with Health Hazard which morphed into Suffer, Sned then went on to do various things in Doom and Oi Polloi, before joining Sawn Off, which morphed into Boxed In, and morphed into War All The Time. Sned also drums in Threads.
