Formed in 1992 after the demise of Defecated Corpse. Effluvia immediately went to record the first demo World Termination which recieved good reviews in the underground press. In 2002, Effluvia's lineup was finally complete with the addition of Rich (who was actually in Defecated Corpse) on the drums. They have went on to record a 9 song EP entitled Ponders Corner in 2003 (which is now out of print) and have done several shows in support of that EP.
2004 saw a milestone for Effluvia with the release of their debut full-length Cadaverous Compost. 13 tracks of meaty death/grind that Effluvia are now currently loved (and sometimes loathed) for. With positive reviews, Effluvia have done mass promotion for their full length; playing local venues and festivals in promotion for Cadaverous Compost. Lately, Cadaverous Compost is getting national recognition on college radio circuit.
In 2006, Effluvia completed and released their self-titled followup to Cadaverous Compost. Containing 12 more tracks of their unrelenting speed and ferociousness with tracks like Mental Meltdown, Napalm Scars, SIn Without Malic, and Why Live. The first run of copies have sold out and are being reprinted. Effluvia have played solid live performances in and around Washington state in promotion for their self-titled release and eventually plan to play outside of Washington for the first time in the near future.
Effluvia are looking to keep the grind alive and we look forward to seeing you at the shows.
