  • Bio

Eftos started 1984 with Peek, Poke & Data in C64-Basic on the famous C64. Later on that machine he came first in contact with a 3 channel SID tracker. After the C64 era he switched to the Amiga to track more stuff, 4 channel first and later in 8 channel with Octalyzer 8 Bit Tracker. In the 1990s a PC was bought and new Trackers tried. The first one was Composer 669, a 16 channel 8 Bit Tracker and later Screamtracker which Eftos descided to use as Adlib Tracker (no samples only synths). Clearly, all of the above efforts failed and just got him into composing. The next step was Windows and the awful .MID format which he edited in Midisoft recording session. It was a waste of time, too. Having learned only little about the mistake, he used Soundfonts (Technolab) and Midisoft recording session to finish his first acceptable pieces. However, only 1 of them is still part of EFTOS.DE as of today: "Hoax Universe" (which was also the first song without looping the main lead). After all those effords he discovered the software he still uses up to now: Modplug Tracker, a 32 Bit multi-channel, instrument-supported Windows tracker based on the famous Impulse Tracker and processing the IT format. One short note here: 16 Bit Samples together with Instrument-support and the editing advantages of a tracker is the absolution. Eftos will never use other software. He is a Tracker, still. His entire work, the work of his lifetime is compressed into one CD "Local Sense Technology". Of course he did more songs, weaker as they were, they were killed entirely. There's too much music out and even more important: Quantity is minor. His latest change was discovering the DARK-Scene, wich he contributed to with an 8-Piece EP "Leadcore" consisting of "Nature the Empty" "Nothing is (not)" "All a lie" "Antiverse" "Self-destruct Intelligence" "Nihil est" "Suiright" & "Eleven Commandments". The music is climax oriented Leadcore, a genre missing in any drop-down list, search result or tag. A lead is the base of every song: atonal, polytonal or plain. Without a single loop they follow strict forward forced rules. Also the latest songs truly get to the border of the WAV format & beyond. After 8 years of work on his debut CD "Local Sense Technology" (1999-20xx) Eftos has started composing his final CD "Art Prime" (2006-20xx). The self-set goal (one album only) needs further evaluation: "Essential Eftos" - the worst of Eftos CD, the merging of "Local Sense Technology" & "Art Prime". This result is published through EFTOS.DE under the section "Essential". COPYRIGHT © EFTOS™

Eftos is a german composer. Lyrically he is assigned to nihilism, musically the closest named genre is industrial music.

Eftos was founded 1984 by Eftos (*1970) as a solo task. His musical history originates from the first trackers on the C64 over the Amiga Protracker, the DOS Composer 669 up to the Windows based Modplug Tracker. In 1999 Eftos started his debut CD 'Local Sense Technology' which is still under construction. In 2006 Eftos began his final album 'Art Prime' which is also in work. As Eftos is a pure studio act and the lyrics circle around nihilism, Eftos remains up to now deeply underground outside any subculture. The music can be found in the web only.

At the very start Eftos was inspired by C64 music, especially Rob Hubbard's Sanxion, because of its lead and the opening. Towards the end Eftos is his sole inspiration. On various websites he states that his music can be classified as 'Leadcore', a genre yet to be defined precisely, however, lead based music was around at all times. A lead is, or leads are the base of his songs. Without repetition, plain, bitonal, polytonal or atonal they follow climax-oriented rules. Around 2005 a radical twist occurred: Eftos changed from instrumentals to vocals and misanthropy. Along with it the music switched to the dark side of industrial.
