Good music should be beautiful, but it doesn't have to be perfect. Great music must be inspired, not contrived. .. Please enjoy the songs (I finally posted the full-length mp3's)! Of course, downloads are also available from places like cdbaby, itunes, napster, amazon, etc. Also check out some of the music videos on youtube (see blog). .. All music was written and recorded by me in my spare bedroom. .. Cover art is by Terrterr. Although she didn't take the picture of me, I suppose we could have tried for a more flattering pic but that would be so cliche :) . .. And I'm sorry for not being on Facebook, but from what I hear Myspace is still easier for posting music and one music page is enough for now.

I really like specific songs more than artists, but generally I like a lot of the shoegaze type of stuff (Lush until their last album and Cocteau Twins), U2 through Pop (but their most recent CD is great, they've returned to making interesting stuff). Duran Duran in the early days, some Simple Minds. Basically a lot of 80's and early 90's stuff. Also some Nine Inch Nails from the 90's - he is an underrecognized songwriter. I'm having a tough time being interested in recent music although there are some notable exceptions: Ulrich Schnauss and Ladytron are both excellent.

A couple of very cool people have said my stuff reminds them of The Church. And also that "Sandra's Alive" reminds them of Joy Division, and "Look Into My Window" reminds of Leonard Cohen. These are fantastic artists so this makes me happy although I'm not sure why I sound so different from the music I tend to listen to...probably because the vocals are in the lower ranges. I suppose in the future I should try to sing a little higher - actually did a reasonable Paul McCartney in a talent show with a friend several years back.
