My life long hobby is building and painting civilian and military miniatures, both figures, terrain, architecture and vehicles. Go to Robert's big Fun with Military and Civilian Minatures for little look.
I also read as a hobby. I like history, of just about anything, including the history of reading. I am also an internet/computer hobbiest.
Oh yeh, miniature photography, too!
Music
Eclectic!! My current favorite is linkin park (how-ever they are spelling it these days). Fair to Midland is in there somewhere. Well ok, I also like the songs from the backyardigins "Knightly Adventure."
Movies
Yes. Like them.
Grew up with both silent movies and technicolour epics. And here is a surprise, some movies I never got to see on the silver screen. Instead, we had the comic book rendention. I never saw the original '300' (precursor of the modern graphic novel and film), I read it. (LOL I guess it is true that the more things change, the more they are the same.)
Motion Pictures are, in truest form, high art and a meaningful impacter of society. But only if the viewer knows it is a play. Partial to the animated ones.
Television
Surfer of the channels. Liked 'Dead like Me.' It was astonishingly good and original, both in story and cast. Seems to have created several off-spring in the 2007 season line-up. I watch some current shows just to see the old cast. I pretend they are there to 'reap' someone in that program, LOL!
BTW, Mandy Potemkin! What was that walking off the set thing about?! The 'dead like me' movie?
It may amaze you to know, my home had no television until I was well into my late teens. Radio is really more my thing.
Books
George Washington's Expense Account,
Literacy in the Ancient World,
Gulliver's Travels. I get a new Farmer's Almanac' every year as well...gotta know when to plow and plant and when to harvest!!!!
Heroes
Louis Oshewano,
Bubba Clyde,
Winston Churchill, (Put the bust back, Barrack!)
Hilltop Hartel,
God.
But you know, my father told me, never have heros, be one. Yes, please add my father to my list of heros.
Oh, yeh. All my heros happen to be dead. Except God. Or they are with God. Or at least God knows where they are right now.
I am not who you think I am. But then again, neither are you.
Who I'd like to meet:
People with honor. People with healthy gums and shiny teeth that don't glow in the dark. People who will admit they ate mud pies as a child, really believed in Santa and didn't scream the first time an ocean wave pushed them down.
Hello & best wishes from the sunny North of England.
Thank you for your kindness & for taking the time to listen, i guess 02.09 is as good a time as any. I was listening to the dawn chorus the other morning, sat in the back garden in my overcoat. What an amazing sound.
