Club Ego was previously a casino and before that a dancehall after the First World War in 1918. A glamorous and regal ballroom style main room with a lounge room below that houses a fish tank with the coolest fish in clubland.
Ego has been established now for over 10 years primarily as a nightclub and is now moving into a new era developing into a much needed live music venue in Edinburgh. We also host burlesque evenings, fashion shows and theatre productions along with corporate events.
We are known as the most diverse nightclub in Scotland housing acts such as Mr Scruff, Judge Jules, Felix Da Housecat, Green Velvet, Benga and Gil Scott Heron to name but a few. From the institution that is Vibe, Edinburgh's leading weekly gay night to Nuklear Puppy, Edinburgh's premier hard dance night you are bound to find something at Ego to suit your taste buds.
Come and check out the original ballroom where dancing began!
Hope to see you all soon,
Hope to see you at the next mutiny on April 10th @ Bongo. It’s the last one until after the summer! Live sets from D-AQ:SED and BROKEN NOTE and appearances from M.D.S and GHOST of life4land :)
The wonderful people at Red Stripe have selected us to take part in their Music Awards Tour 2008. We'd love it if you came along to be a part of it. Bring your mates, make a night of it, and groove along to the eclectic range of live acts on offer. Visit the links below for more info. Cheers,

THURSDAY 6th December: Due to other commitments, Bradley C unfortunately can't make it to Siren this week instead we've managed to get Edinburgh breaks DJ, The Breaknotist.
THE BREAKNOTIST (FREQBEAT) The Breaknotist aka Ed D, DJs and co-Promotes at Freqbeat at Red with his trust sidekick, MNKY. From their launch in March 2006, The Breaknotist and DJ Mnky have been developing what they feel is a pretty unique blend of House, Techno, Electro and Slamming Breaks! They've enjoyed many great nights in 2006/2007 with more to come in the new year. The Breaknotist has supported some of the main players in the Edinburgh scene, including Ian Brandon, Steven Foulds, Siren, Dave Begg, Kenny Breaks, Brainstormer and Gary Mac to name but a few!
