About EGOMASS - new cd ESTREME CONSEGUENZE available now
La formazione completa degli EGOMASS risale al 2004, anno in cui entra a far parte della band Luca Pintore (voce). Antonio Mulas (basso) faceva parte della band già dal 2003, mentre Paolo Lubinu (chitarra) e Flavio Fancellu (batteria) lavoravano al progetto EGOMASS già da diversi anni. La band si auto definisce thrash progressive, anche se è ben consapevole che non può essere un'etichetta esaustiva. sono in molti infatti a trovare nei brani degli EGOMASS una sfumatura o addirittura un'attitudine core (ciò è spiegabile in buona parte con l'attitudine che la band mostra nei lve), quel che è certo è che si ha a che fare con una certa sperimentazione. nel 2005 comincia l'attività live, è un anno molto intenso, la band suona un pò ovunque in Sardegna riscontrando sempre risposte positive da parte del pubblico. Nel 2006 l'attività live si intensifica nonostante l'entrata in studio per la registrazione del prio demo. Nell'estate 2006 gli EOMASS partecipano al concorso "artes e sonos" a Ruinas (Or). Si tratta di un meeting- concorso che per cultura e attitudine non privilegia di certo il metal e i suoi derivati. Eppure con grande stupore della band gli EGOMASS vincono il terzo premio (in realtà simbolico). I contatti e le collaborazioni con altri gruppi si moltiplicano, la band sviluppa la consapevolezza di avere un proprio pubblico. Nel Novembre 2006 esce il demo "PROMO 06" nel quale sono contenute due tracce "DUBBIO" e "POSSO ANCORA CHIEDERE" per un totale di circa 11 minuti. La tiratura è di 200 copie che vengono distribuite nel giro di pochissimi mesi. La qualità della registrazione è appunto quella di un demo, ma la sostanza viene apprezzata eccome... Le recensioni su web e fanzine sono sempre positive, a volte addirittura entusiasmanti. Siamo in pieno 2007, gli EGOMASS partecipano al concorso AREZZO WAVE (ITALIAN WAVE) classificandosi per le finali regionali, e al TOTAL SOUND CONTEST (finalmente un contest metal) dal quale escono vincitori con il massimo punteggio. nell'estate 2007 vengono inoltre premiati al festival di OVODSTOCK. Intanto si approfondisce il contatto con una brutal band di Bologna, i Lacerater. Così nel Dicembre 2007 gli EGOMASS fanno il loro primo mini tour fuori dall'isola. Si tratta di tre date: Imola Firenze Bologna. La risposta del pubblico è a dir poco incoraggiante (vedi il live report su "GRAN DUCATO DI METALLO"), per questo e per la bellissima esperienza in generale, l'entusiasmo e la coesione all'interno del gruppo si rafforza. Così nel 2008 si decide di andare in studio, questa volta con maggiore professionalità. L'attività live viene un pò accantonata (anche se non sospesa) per potersi dedicare totalmente alla registrazione e mixaggio. Tra l'altro è stato un lavoro "itinerante" che ha richesto molti mesi. L'avviso della band è che ne è valsa la pena... Tra poche settimane finalmente uscirà l'album (1000 copie).
GROUP BIOGRAPHY
The final line-up of the EGOMASS’ was completely reached in 2004 when Luca Pintore (voice) joined to the band. Antonio Mulas (bass guitar) had joined to the band since 2003, whereas Paolo Lubinu (lead guitar) and Flavio Fancellu (drum) had labored alone on their project in early 2001/2002. The musicians like to define their band trash progressive band, although they are conscious that this is not an exhaustive definition at all. Indeed, many people considers EGOMASS pieces having a core trend and this is particularly evident during the live performances of the group when it is clear that EGOMASS’ perform something like experimental activities.
In 2005 EGOMASS’ start their live activity in Sardinia where live venues were met enthusiastically by people. In 2006 the live activity for the group becomes more intense and the first demonstration recording was also realized. In the summer of 2006, EGOMASS’ participated to their first music competition “artes e sonos” in Ruinas (in Sardinia) which is theoretically open to all the musical genres and, therefore, “metal” had not historically occupied a prevalent and outwardly accepted place. However, EGOMASS’ snatched the third position although the award can be retained by the band as quite symbolic! Contacts and collaborations with other groups multiplied and the EGOMASS’ became to be conscious to have an audience of them! In November 2006 they finished their first demonstration recording containing two tracks only, “Dubbio” and “Posso ancora credere” for a total time of 11 minutes: the 200 copies produced for the circulation were distributed in very few months. The quality of the recording is that of a “demonstration recording” at all, but the actual music content was widely appreciated. Indeed, the web and fanzine reviews on such tracks were always quite positive and sometimes enthusiastic. In 2007 EGOMASS’ participated to Arezzo Wave (Italian Wave) competition classifying themselves in the regional final competition and they also participated to the Total Sound Contest (a quite metal contest at least!) where they reached the first award with the maximum score. Moreover, in the summer of 2007 the EGOMASS’ are also awarded at the Ovodstock Festival. In the meanwhile, the relationship with the LACERTER group, a brutal band from Bologna, becomes more and more deep and on December 2007 EGOMASS’ had their first tour out of the Sardinia. They had three venues for their tour performances: Imola, Firence and Bologna. The audience feed-back was quite encouraging (see, for example, the live report on the magazine “GRAN DUCATO DI METALLO”): after this very nice experience the gush and the group union resulted to be quite enforced. Therefore, in 2008 EGOMASS’ decided to have a more professional studio-recording experience. As a consequence, the live activity was necessarily a bit minimized (although not fully cancelled!) to dedicate themselves to recording and mixing activities. These have been really itinerant activities and they required many months of job for the group! However, it is EGOMASS’ opinion that it has been worth one’s while!

Tra non molto inizieranno e rimbalzare nella rete interminabili code di bit che che si ricomporranno in mail di auguri, di buone feste, di un grande 2010 etc... Sicuramente è aprrezzabile essere ottimisti, nessuno vuole negare il diritto alla speranza, ma pensiamo che non ci sia molto da festeggiare dato l'attuale momento storico e sociale. Fermi tutti.... non vogliamo fare "pippotti" sulla politica o sull'economia... vogliamo solo darvi uno spunto per una riflessione!!
