“In a ‘Pop’ musical landscape with little excitement these days, you have to admit, the appearance of E-grand is a source of pure inspiration. Too independent to follow short-lived trends, a stranger to the rules of the market, he has pursued his path against odds.
Gaining inspiration both from the biggest songwriters (D Bowie, J Lennon, N Young, L Cohen), as well as the best of what English Pop has offered over the past decades (The Smiths, The Housemartins, Teenage Fanclub and among others Shins), he has successfully produced songs both classical and everlasting in character. In this new, heroic production, he has climbed to the summits of Pop song writing, while adhering to musical pertinence and elegance rather than flashy temptation.
As far as structure is concerned, E-grand never takes the easy road, overcoming from the standard and endlessly reproduced couplet/refrain and he has done it with maestro: ready to surge unexpectedly at any moment, a break in the rhythm, or even a new section, while never being a nuisance to the song’s fluidity. The explosion of ideas and family of sounds provide depth and beauty, which reveal new things each new time you listen to them. In the end, the euphoric melodies enough to make you cry progressively blend into your mind for eternity. Such a beautiful piece of work may well gain the respect it truly deserves."
