eh? began life as a four school mates with no musical ability wanting to liven up their friday and saturday drinking sessions and write songs about the beautiful people and scenery in dumfries and galloway. that statement is still relevant today besides the fact the band are all working on the gravy train. founding members captain yid [vocals] and simpledoug [bass] were joined by gav mango [drums] and dr.raz [guitar] after allocating instruments through the drawing of lots and gigging under the monicker "the microwavable oven chips". that name was shit so now eh? soon became local cult favourites with songs like "sheep fucker", "seven tonnes of shit" "peking chicken", "band in a jar" and "ginger kid playing bowls". These songs were the basis of the first eh? demo "velcro handcuffs" however this was never released and the public drew a collective sigh of relief.
eh? however have had some casulties along the way. throughout the bands higher education period in which none of the band lived in the same city the band tended to have more gigs than practices and drummers were hard to retain. gav mango was the first to go awol to be replaced by fraz "easy boy parsnip" on drums. he lasted one gig on full drumkit before moving onto to a snare/high hat custom kit. he was then replaced by doog for a brief stint but doog was a bass player. next in line was our good friend wub who has mainly remained our regular beat system [although we have had raquel, death metal ando, aussie cricketer andy and snake fill in on various occasions].
In the axe wielding department original guitarist dr.raz is slowly being phased out the band by doosel who joined the band several years before. doosel arrival brought a new dimension to the band and steadied the ship that dr.raz was trying to sink with his mistake ridden guitar technique.
eh? have released two four track eps "is that a tool in your toolbelt?" and "the thermodynamics of hellfire" to date that showcase their cheesecore wah style. the band are renowned for their energetic and unusual stage shows that usually include the biggest bear [straight edge al hazzard] who likes karate, beatdowns and salmon and the feminine mime artist/keyboard player [rodders].
eh? have always been about having a laugh, drinking and winding up the small town mentallity of folk within the south west of scotland!

Being an Uncle is great, I'm already undermining the parents authority when they're not around. Although on my first encounter with Stella she spewed on me and then penetrated my supporting hand with a back door bonanza! haha. I caught up with all three at Easter but am also heading up 2 Brisbane/Sunshine Coast 4 a couple of weeks on Thursday 4 a friends wedding/nine inch nails/Byron bay trip.
So Coralie is also getting close... Must be exciting all round.

While I highly recommend you DO tour the East Coast of Canada (Nova Scotia's cool), I would suggest you steer clear of the prairies ie.Saskatchewan and Manitoba because for the most part you might be staring at wheat fields for the better part of your day and curling and drinking beer to keep your sanity. Unless that's what you want.
Come to BC instead and visit Vancouver so I can see you guys play - the Olympics will be here too so you can cause a ruckus. Make sure you bring the pink rugby shirts though for sure.
