Eighth Wave originally formed in the Autumn of 2006 with a mutual appreciation for mainstream rock and a desire to put their mark on the world with their infectious pop/rock sound.

The band built their foundations performing through the northwest’s distinguished venues (Liverpool’s Cavern Club, Barfly’s, Academy’s etc) before landing their first major support in 2007. The band has since continued supporting major artists across the UK, most recently completing a sold out UK tour with GO:AUDIO in April 2009.

2009 has also seen the band release their debut album, through record company Cohort Music via Genepool/Universal Music Operations. Eighth Wave launched their album nationally in close association with HMV, whom hosted the official instore launch event in the band’s home town of Wigan. The album is also sold via all major online retailers in digital and CD format.

Their debut album, titled ‘Last Night’s Hero’, was recorded with help from top producers Andy Giblin (Profane, Slipknot, IdefI) and Steve Rushton (former Son Of Dork co-front man and now signed solo artists to Hollywood Records, US).

The band will be appearing as main support for Elliot Minor in May at Rock The Park in Cheshire. A further UK tour is also scheduled to be undertaken late 2009 coinciding with a major UK single release.
