Eight Stories High is a band based out of Orlando, Florida. They have been headlining around the midwest region for about 3 years, and have recently performed at venues and events such as the Elbo Room in Chicago, and Springfest 2010. They have been previously asked to perform for the nationally touring band Umphrey's McGee. They have been awarded 1st place at Cardinal Vision's Battle of the Bands, as well as 2nd place in the Doc's Music Hall battle of the bands. They have been featured in various articles in magazines and newspapers around the region, attesting to their local success. Made up of musicians from a combination of different musical backgrounds, they fuse jazz, funk, reggae, classic rock, and many other musical styles to form an exciting and unique sound. They combine a mixture of original tunes and a vast array of covers to put on a great show for a wide variety of audiences. -

Influences
We may like to think that our music is independent from that of pop culture, but every musician draws his/her style from years of listening and interpreting different genres. We have found great guidance from the music of many artists such as Dave Matthews, Eric Clapton, Sublime, Bob Marley, Ben Folds, Led Zeppelin, Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Doors, The Beatles, and many others. -
