Influences
We may like to think that our music is independent from that of pop culture, but every musician draws his/her style from years of listening and interpreting different genres. We have found great guidance from the music of many artists such as Dave Matthews, Eric Clapton, Sublime, Bob Marley, Ben Folds, Led Zeppelin, Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Doors, The Beatles, and many others.
Eight Stories High is a band located in Muncie, IN, made up of Ball State Students. The group is still relatively young in its existence (formed in 2008), but is certainly not young in its sound. They have been headlining around the area for about 18 months and are particularly proud of recent performances at Springfest 2009 and Birdy’s Pub in Broad Ripple. Also, they are proud of recent 1st place performances at Cardinal Vision’s Battle Of The Bands and Windereme Battle of the Bands. Eight Stories High was also asked to perform for the nationally touring and critically acclaimed Umphrey’s Mcgee at their after party in Muncie. Made up of a mixture of musicians from different musical backgrounds, they fuse their talents in Jazz, Funk, Reggae, Classic Rock, and many other styles to form an independent genre and a unique sound. Providing a mixture of original tunes and a vast array of covers, Eight Stories High is sure to present any audience with a great show.
