CONCERTS FOR 2009
Friday April 3rd 7.30pm
Two of Scotland’s finest musicians, Wendy Stewart and Gary West, on harps, pipes and vocals are joined in an exciting opening concert by Jopie Jonkers and Koen de Cauter, South American harp, voice and guitar.
Saturday April 4th 7.30pm
Meinir Heulyn tells the story of the harp in Wales using small harp, triple harp and pedal harp while Ireland’s Anne Marie O’ Farrell gives a dazzling display of the versatility of the lever harp –“Just so Bach!”
Sunday April 5th 3.00pm
From the USA the 16 member Brandywine Harp Orchestra along with their director and musical arranger, Janet Witman, will perform a vibrant concert of music, song, poetry and dance from a wide range of musical traditions.
Sunday April 5th 7.30pm
Two brilliant performers, Catriona McKay on Scottish Harp and Olov Johannsson from Sweden on nyckelharpa join in an exciting blend of two cultures and world renowned harpist Monika Stadler demonstrates a wide range of musical influences from jazz to her own compositions, some of which are inspired by her travels in Scotland.

Music of the ancient wire strung clarsach in the hands of internationally acknowledged expert Bill Taylor and the lovely voice of Janet Bennett in the music and songs of Northumbria.

Our Family Concert offers entertainment for all ages given by Na Caimbeulaich—The Campbells of Greepe: Two generations of one of Scotland’s most musical Gaelic families, Kenna Campbell, Seumas Campbell, Mary Ann Kennedy, Wilma Kennedy, and Maggie Macdonald in a beautifully presented programme of harp music and song.

Afternoon Tea Concert. Relax while enjoying the music of innovative Highland musicians, Fraya Thomsen and Gillian Fleetwood, The Duplets and Calum MacLeod.

A chance to hear an extraordinary line up of some of Scotland’s finest contemporary harp players, Maeve Gilchrist, Corrina Hewat, Mary MacMaster and Patsy Seddon along with percussionist Donald Hay, in recently composed music for the small harp.
Wednesday April 8th 3.00pm
Na Clarsairean, The Scottish Harp Orchestra, is joined by Festival students in mainly Scottish music arranged and directed by Isobel Mieras, while Alina Bzhezhinska leads a group of her students from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
Wednesday 8th April 7.30pm
A fine blend of Scottish and Irish music supplied by Draiocht --Irish harper, Michael Rooney and June McCormack, flute joined by Scottish harper Ailie Robertson, Paul Jennings, percussion and Ewan Robertson, guitar.
