Born and based in the city of Edinburgh, I have been writing my own material for the past 2 years and began gigging with it mid 2007. I take my influences from musicians who use emotive lyrics and singing styles combined with innovative and creative songwriting- see my influences!
I still gig as a solo vocalist/guitarist to maintain the acoustic feel I began with but more so I now front my own band gigging with bassist Andy Lyon and drummer David Morrison which has helped me evolve my sound and our direction as a band. We enjoy working with other musicians also and are looking to continue doing this to keep establishing an overall sound.
Classic rock and blues music is predominantly our biggest style influence and it is great to be able to channel this through our material by still being able to strip down the music for a more acoustic feel and build it back up for a heavier, rustic blues sound.
We have recently just finished recording an E.P to be released and available at gigs this summer with a launch gig booked for the 29th June 2009!
All the tracks on this E.P were recorded and mixed at B&B Studios in Leith, Edinburgh by Louisa Rafferty and mastered by Dave Hook (Stanley ODD) [SEE TOP FRIENDS FOR LINKS TO BOTH].
This E.P will include a new song I wrote for piano, 'Steal and Chase' an older song 'Only For a Moment' and a fairly new song that we finally got the opportunity to record, 'Social Butterfly'. The instrumentation used includes hammond organ, trumpet, strings, reverse guitar solos and recording and mixing techniques influenced by 70s classic rock bands to create a unique and rounded sound. The tracks have now been uploaded to our MySpace player and the E.P will be available to buy from the 29th June at gigs!
Other projects for myself include a drums and guitar two-piece called 'The Charming Wizards' with friend and drummer Tamar Nazarian. We are still in the early stages of rehearsing but watch this space!
Andy also plays bass for other local bands and artists, is a keen sessions player and plays his own solo bass material- which can be heard on his own myspace.
David also drums in recently formed rock outfit the 'Easy Kings' working on original material and jams with influences from bands such as Thin Lizzy and Deep Purple. He is also drummer for top tribute bands Jamirrorquai, IMXS and Pinkish to name but a few!
I am also looking to get involved in session singing so if you need any female vox, backing, lead or harmony on solo or band projects get in touch either via this myspace or by email- erintodd1990@hotmail.com
Thought I'd let you know about our Bob Dylan night in Glasgow this month. We're exploring the roots of Dylan's music in Scottish and Irish folk songs and have assembled a 6 piece band and have various performers coming along to give their own interpretations of some classic Bob Dylan songs. It should be a fun night!
If you fancy having a listen to some of recordings or to find out more information about the event get in touch through myspace!

Thanks for the kind comments, Eirrin. My daughter and I enjoyed listening to a fellow lefty guitarist. It took us a minute or two to realise that you didn't look awkward in any way and then realised you were playing your guitar the proper way round. :)
