Sounds Like
Sounds like a Jewish band! MySpace needs to add a few categories to choose from. Here's some suggestions: Jewish; Israeli; Klezmer; or how about a category simply called "Ethnic"? Eh, I digress....

The Mike Eisenstadt Band is a well loved mainstay in Florida, and has begun to garner national recognition in Jewish music circles. It is one of the most in-demand party groups in Florida. The band is based in Florida, and has traveled extensively in the eastern US. The musicians come from diverse professional music backgrounds, and the group has the ability to play songs in any style -- swing, jazz, top 40, funk, latin, disco, R&B, country -- you name it!
In addition to party hits, the band has specialized in Jewish events, and is often featured at Jewish festivals throughout the southeast. Although it is often referred to as a klezmer band, the music that is performed goes beyond klezmer, in an eclectic mix of Hebrew, Yiddish, Israeli, Rumanian, old, new, traditional, and not-so-traditional. The band has as much fun performing as the audience does listening, and concerts have been described as “just like a Jewish wedding!” – no surprise, given the group’s extensive experience with wedding and bar/bat mitzvahs. (One of the few Florida bands that knows the meaning of bedeken, mezhinke, and sheva brachot!)
The band's latest CD, Chazak, was released in early 2005 to excellent reviews around the US. Chazak represents all sides of the band, from traditional to original, all done with love and ruach (spirit) from Mike, who passed away in September, 2005.
The band is led by Kevin Frye, the groups trumpeter since 1992. Kevin strives to continue the tradition of excellence that Mike instilled for so many years.
Kevin is also the co-host of the Sunday Simcha radio show and is owner of Bayside Entertainment agency in Tampa.
