EitherLanD
The Legacy of AdAm
Well, EitherLanD, or rather its present line-up was only born a year ago, though lots of songs had already been composed and stored in a computer 3 years before, ready to be learnt and played.
Once the music composed, we had to think about the lyrics but we couldn't imagine writing the lyrics separately and since it was progressive rock that we were heading at, it seemed obvious we had to tell a whole story, linking every song in a sort of concept creation in the pure tradition of progressive rock bands. 80 songs or rather ideas of songs are now in the whole project.
Thus was born Eitherland, a world so much like ours and yet so different , in a way ... Lots of different issues are dealt with in the story of Eitherland, from politics to ecology, for the most serious ones to love/hate and so on ... The main theme is that of a struggle between twins from youth to manhood, each one embodying a different point of view towards Earth and mankind.
As for the band, I , Stef, the drummer, after playing in a band in England, totally stopped music for ten years but started again to compose lots of songs on my computer , I have always been a progressive rock fan, and then I met Frank the bassist, also fond of prog but more heavy metal and Eric, the singer who likes all sorts of music and especially prog. One year later, after different comings and goings in the band, we finally met Stéphane, the guitar player, a metal fan and Julien, Mr Keyboards who also likes prog. Our location is round Salon de Provence in the South of France.
So far we've been rehearsing on a few songs which can be heard on myspace or zikpot where we had our first opportunity to get reaction from an audience and got lots of congratulations and encouragement for our work.
We've recorded our first 6 songs in a studio last July and are still mixing them. Only one of them is online "No son of mine !" The rest will follow soonish...
We are really eager to play them in concert but at the moment prefer to play as guests in order to get our own audience little by little ...
As we're not professional musicians, and far from that indeed, and everyone of us having a job, we would like to play in Provence in small halls or cafés, not too far from where we live, of course.
