E.J.'s Interests
|
| General | I tend to be a deeply philosophical person. My interests include Celtic, Pagan spiritual studies, philosophy, calssic literature and poetry. I have have a lot of artistic interests as well; writing, drawing, painting, singing, etc. | | Music | My favorite contemporary vocalists are Josh Groban and Celine Dion. My favorite genres are New Age, Celtic, Afro-Celtic and other world/ethnic genres, Classical, Folk, Pop, Classic Rock (to some degree), Alternative, Industrial & Techno. | | Movies | I like good cinema. That's all I can say on the subject, really. There are too many films I've enjoyed to list them all here. So instead I'll list genres instead. I enjoy comedies (especially of the romantic ilk and Monty Python), docu-dramas, historical pieces, science fiction and fantasy fiction. | | Television | Dramas: "Boston Legal," "CSI" (all 3 of 'em),
Sitcoms: "Simpsons," "Futurama," "Family Guy," "American Dad," "South Park," "Becker," "Home Improvement," "Just Shoot Me,"
Reality Shows: "American Idol," "Next Best Thing," ocaasionally I enjoy "Hell's Kitchen" ...and even though it only aired one season, one of my all-time favorites was "Rock Star NXS."
Talk Shows: By far, "Ellen" is my favorite! But late night tends to find me watching "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno or "The Late Show" with David Letterman, and I really enjoy "The Late Late Show" with Craig Ferguson (SO much better since Craig Kilborn--the Comedy Central reject--left...LOL!). | | Books | I tend to read alot of spiritual and philosophical non-fiction; "Anam Cara" and "Eternal Echoes" by John O'Donohue, "Druidcraft" by Philip Carr-Gomm, and the writings of Henry David Thoreau, as well as other classical authors/philosophers.
On the other hand, I do tend to read alot of philosophically-based fiction; "The Celestine Prophesy" by James Redfield, "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman, and of course "The Chronicles of Narnia" were a staple of my pre-adolescent reading.
I also enjoy fantasy fiction such as the "Xanth" series by Piers Anthony, the "Adept" novels by Katherine Kurtz and Deborah Turner Harris, "Mists of Avalon" by Marion Bradley, and the Shakespearean fantasy trilogy: "Ill Met by Moonlight," "All Night Awake" and "A Man So Daring," by Sarah A. Hoyt. | | Heroes | Of the classical commentators, philosophers and writers, those I admire include Henry David Thoreau, William Blake, Ralph Waldo Emmerson, Edgar Allan Poe, and Geoffrey Chaucer.
Among the contemporary non-fiction writers whose work I admire are Ross Nichols, Philip Carr-Gomm, Gerald Gardner, John O'Donohue and John & Caitlin Matthews.
Of the modern celebrity ilk, I admire Ellen Degenerous, Bill & Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. |

About me:
"Better than a thousand useless words
is one word that gives peace."
-- Buddha
Hi, I'm E.J. I'm the former design editor and a writer for a northeastern New York arts & entertainment newspaper, and more recently a columnist for Vermont’s GLBT newspaper, Out In The Mountains, I'm a pretty laid-back, good-natured person and prefer the company of similar people. I tend to be something of a philosopher and enjoy the study of Celtic, Earth-based spirituality. I'm also a "no nonsense" kind of person, having little use for hypocrites, foolish or bigoted people. I enjoy a lot of artistic pursuits but my chief passion is writing and creative design work of any kind. Presently I’m working on several book projects which include a science-fiction, fantasy-fiction and autobiographical novels.
Among my many interests, I’m also a lover of theatre, appearing early in 2006 in a starring role on the Dorset Theater stage (Dorset, Vermont).
I'd like to thank you for visiting, and invite you to post your thoughts, let me know you were here. I always enjoy feedback and welcome meeting new people.
A note to friends and well-wishers: please do not post graphics or images in the "Comments" section here. Much as I appreciate the sentiment, it tends to screw with the layout I have designed for this page. Thanks.

Who I'd like to meet:
I enjoy meeting good-natured, genuine people with similar interests, particularly spiritual, philosophical and artistic.
After many years I still find myself single. So I guess the question of what I look for in a romantic interest becomes relevant here. Attraction is so much a matter of chemistry and fate that I think it’s difficult to characterize who exactly my soul mate would be. I've met a lot of guys I would've thought I'd have a connection with and it turned out we just didn't click. So, who’s to say, really? But certain qualities are requisite. A partner should be romantic, thoughtful, posses a good sense of humor, be well-mannered and cultured. As far as mannerism, I definitely prefer masculine types. Physically, I tend to be attracted to men my age or younger with slimmer builds.
At the end of the day, what it all comes down to is, your looks will get my attention, but it's your personality that will keep it.

Hot News from MD...it seems most of the hierarchy is enjoying a drunken debauchery in Pennsic and they will not present any of the formal hearings until a florida representative shows up to present their case. So apparently I'm not the only one who is going to MD...maybe when I go I should come pick you up as well....or at least meet me half way. Anyway I'm off to get drunk have to start the party early. Oh yeah I'll be drunk all day tomorrow as well.
Hey Ej Way to totally not put me in your top

~Paul~

S
so what does a queer have to do to get to post comments on your page?
Wishing you a Blessed Yule.
Well shit here I am listening to the songs we used to listen to in my car, whil eriding through MD. So now "I don't ever want to be without you, wait, wait, there is a place inside, baby wait , wait I never had a chance to love, I will never want to be without you," it can be true...forget all these little boys who don't know their head from the hole in the ground. If they only had a clue what Life, the Universe and Everything else really is!"
Hey I hope you had a wounderful Turkay day. Hope everything is going ok with you. I am looking forward to your yule speach this year. I sent my already.
Blessed Yule to you my friend.
