Where do I even begin? There are so many great artists in various genres that have influenced my perception of music. Here are just a few of those greats: Jazz/R&B: Kenny Garrett, Roy Hargrove, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, David Sanborn, Kirk Whalum, Gerald Albright, Branford Marsalis, Grover Washington Jr., Maceo Parker, Marcus Miller, Johnny Hodges Funk/R&B/Soul: Prince, James Brown, D'angelo, Michael Jackson, Earth Wind & Fire, Mint Condition, Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight, Gap Band, Ray Charles Gospel: Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, The Winans, and many MANY more.

I like to gather what I can from all my influences mentioned above and grow into my own. While some are more influential than others, they have all helped to make my style what it is today.
BIO: Evan started playing sax at the age of 10. At 16, Evan played nationally for several years with Benny Mardones and the Hurricanes. He was the Star Search winner on Warren Hill’s first annual Smooth Jazz Cruise where he also performed with nationally recognized guitarist, Chieli Minucci. Evan has performed at Lincoln Center in NYC as the lead alto sax player in the 315 All-Star Jazz Band. Knight is an active member of the Syracuse live music scene. He continues to take part in events such as the Syracuse Jazz Festival, Jazz in the City, Oswego Harborfest, and the Syracuse Inner Harbor.
Having been dubbed a “sax phenom” and “musical wunderkind” by his peers and fans, Knight’s album “Reminiscence” is a highly anticipated mix of cool Jazz, smooth R&B, and Funk. The album radiates with a fresh, stimulating vibe that is sure to appeal to all music lovers. With the release of his debut album, Evan is on the brink of making his mark in the contemporary jazz genre. "Reminiscence" won Knight a SAMMY (Syracuse Area Muse Award) for Best Jazz CD '09..
