Heavy Metal, Classical Music, got a vague interest in science.
Art is good and I'm a bit of a closet Historian (mostly British history, and most of that's military stuff).
ITV's ULTIMATE FORCE with ROSS KEMP (Grant Mitchell)
And I like to write scathing letters to MPs, Ken Livingstone and my University's finance department.
Ooh, and I like
dirty ugly naked people
as well. I like to
draw them
.
I suppose it'd also be fair to say I enjoy the odd drink or two, just the one to clear my head and all that. Socially.
If I do happen to get a little tipsy I like to sing and occaisionally to dance; I have a series of my own dance moves, like people slalom and the motorbike.
They are brilliant and compliment my standard routine of cheesy, hip gyrating, disco dancing and freestyle breakdancing with perfect harmony.
Music
Heavy Metal.
Judas Priest is by far the greatest heavy metal band to ever walk the planet. Now I know they're a bit camp for a bloke like me to be listening to, but the pure HEAVY METAL of songs like Painkiller can make even the hardest man's nose bleed. Seriously, plus the twin guitar attack of KK Downing and Glenn Tipton is a fantastic tour de force, the likes of which can only be rivalled by those featured in bands like Thin Lizzy or Iron Maiden.
Of course, there was the album Turbo, which everyone slates for being well gay. But I don't know, I kind of enjoy the odd song from it now and then, but maybe I'm just a well adjusted, sensitive bloke in touch with my femine side.
Got to give a mention to Sabbath though, they're to metal as Odin is to the Norse pantheon of Gods. The Allfather of metal.
Ooh, and Megadeth kick arse too. This is the shit video to their greatest, heaviest, bestest song. Ignore the video and prepare to have your brains blown clean out of your head by the sheer power of this thrash classic, Hangar 18.
I also like classical music, not an avid listener but I do enjoy a bit of Mussorgsky, Profokiev and of course you have to love Bach.
But you've got to be in the mood for some of that, whereas bands like Madness you can listen to all the time.
Plus I love random "poofy" sort of songs, that are well camp, so I can sing them when I'm absolutely caned down the pub to annoy people.
"Don't say a prayer for me nowwwwww! Save it till the morning after, NO, don't say a prayer for me now! .....save it till the morning afteeeeeeeeer!"
Ooh, even better,
"The chances of anything coming from Mars, are a million to one he said! Yes the chances of anythiiiiiiiiiing coming from Mars, are a million to one! But still...they cooooooome!"
Winds my mate right up.
Movies
The absolute pinnacle of film making was achieved in 1991 with the release of Terminator 2.
Commando should have landed an oscar and I think Predator (the first one, the one with Arnie) taught us all a valuable lesson that I know I personally will take to the grave with me. And isn't great in Conan 2 when a camel gobs on Arnie so he just thumps it in the head and knocks it out? Genius.
Television
I've commited the last twenty one years of Eastenders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street to memory, and sometimes I sit at home in the dark with all the electrics off, meditating over two decades worth of soaptastic gold, just playing them over in my head, imagining alternate storylines, different paths for the characters...where would the mitchells be now if Sam had stayed with Ricky, eh?
Books
Got to love the classic dystopian novels, like 1984 or Brave New World, I'm mostly into Science Fiction though, unfortunately I haven't had a good read in quite some time, except for some comics, but even the best written comics can't compare to a good book.
Dune is brilliance, Herbert sort of messes it up by the third one though and I'm not sure if I'll buy book 7 because his son's writing and I hear he's a bit crap.
Also on the Sci Fi front you've got to have a look at Robert Heinlein's stuff, I personally cannot recommend "Stranger in a strange land" enough.
Terry Pratchett's work is absolutely fantastic for its humour alone, oh and Neil Gaiman's good, read Good Omens and American Gods a short while ago and they kicked arse. Bit miffed about the gay sex with a demon in American Gods though, I just didn't think it was entirely necessary.
Heroes
Lo Pan out of big Trouble in Little China. John Matrix out of Commando. BATMAN.
