Pianista Fantastica is the pianist with the mad chops who plays on all the tracks of Better By Far. Jon Arkin did the percussion and sweet Dave Bell laid down the guitar.
Influences
Bono, Leonard Cohen, Shawn Colvin, Ella Fitzgerald, the Indigo Girls (huge fan), the LA guitar quartet, Joni Mitchell, Gregory Page, Dawn Upshaw, Suzanne Vega, Tom Waits, The Weepies, Gillian Welch. And sugar, especially when mixed with butter and salt.
Sounds Like
Allison Krauss meets Ella Fitzgerald, with a pinch of sass for flavah.

What a sweetheart! I have been living a mess of a week. I especially loathe V-Day. But then you managed to lift me up and charm a smile to my lips. So it is easy for me to offer you a warm "Happy Valentine's Day." I am eager to hear more of/from you, Elaine. A warm hug for you, my friend. Oh! I almost forgot...Smack! (It is V-Day you know, teehee) ~S~

Hi Elaine! You may be one of the only MySpace friends I haven't (yet) met in real life, but you come highly recommended by a trusted source and I'd like to keep track of you! :) I hope our paths cross soon!
It would be great to see you again! I'm so happy to see you are doing well. I'm almost finished with this whole MBA thing, so maybe seeing New York for the first time would make a great vacation! All the best.
Hi Elaine. Just had to stop by and give a hug. I hope you are well. Did you see Hershey makes a chocolate pretzel bar? I could only think of you. Kisses

Have you ever considered asking local sports venues to audition you for singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" before a game? I think your voice would sound excellent singing that song. You might want to try that. It would help increase your exposure to the public, too.
On this show: Elaine Romanelli, Old Mississippi Moonshine Revival, Black Angel Band, Steep Canyon Rangers, Danan Healy, music by and an interview with Suzy Bogguss, Catherine Cameron-Martin, D. Robbins, Chuck Maultsby & His Old Band, Stoll Vaughan and Ukulele Bartt.
