WHAT ARE YOUR INFLUENCES ? p.: my music grew up on the ruins of the 80's and the legacy of the70's : what a mess (lol) !! c.: like most children I was influenced by my parents' taste in music. We would have long car journeys blasting out Meat Loaf, Dire Straits, Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones. Bob Seger, Van Morrison and Janis Joplin were also among their favourites.
A band that has also influenced me is a scottish group called Runrig who write songs which are a wonderful mix of folk and rock. I have always been a fan of Gabrielle and I find her voice so rich and full of emotion.
WHAT YOUR FIRST LP WAS ? c.: The first album I bought was a fabulous cheesy compilation of songs from 1992. I bought it in HMV in Edinburgh. I remember being proud as I had saved up pocket money to get it and spent many a long hour listening to it, especially Right Said Fred!!! p.: I went to this small shop with all my money and bought Deep Purple Made in Japan. It was a beautiful object with a gold sleeve and it was HARD ROCK ! Believe me or not but I still get into a trance when I hear the Highway Star, Mistreated or Burn intros ! Ritchie Blackmore will always be my guitar hero.
AND THE LATEST ONE ? c.: My latest album was James Morrison (artists won't get very rich with c. :) p. ). p.: The new DMB's album
HOW DID YOU MET ? c.: I was taking the metro back from Charles de Gaulle airport and I had a lot of suitcases. I was trying to get through the barrier and got stuck half way through! p. came up to try and help me push myself and suitcase through and in the confusion dropped his file he was holding. Piles of sheet music and song lyrics fell out and as I was helping him to pick it all up we got talking about his music and that's how we began working together! p: Not at all! The real story is that we were both cruising on the Amazon River when a rain storm forced our boats to berth edge to edge in the middle of nowhere. The tour operator launched a casino night to pass the time and it’s the place where we met! We were sitting side by side at the same table and started talking while losing all our money!
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE COLOURS ? c.: Black and blue ! p.: Red, yellow and Surf Green.
I cannot thank you enough for your kind support and friendship! Welcome to our ever growing family of friends. I'm really happy you have decided to become friends of the Wake Up (to child abuse) MySpace Music page. Just by adding us to your friends you have already demonstrated that you have a good heart and are willing to take a step towards ending the hidden suffering of so many.
We also dare to hope you will be able to persuade some of your other MySpace friends to join our just fight against child abuse by adding us to their friends too. The larger our family of friends becomes, the more people we will be able to reach and educate about this terrible ‘disease’ sweeping across the world which blights the lives of more children than you may imagine. Please take a moment to read some of the statistics on child abuse highlighted on our profile and within our blogs. I am sure you will be just as shocked and appalled as we are when you find out the full extent of this scourge.
The innocent children suffering such terrible abuse need all the help they can get. Increased awareness of this foul concealed crime will help to prevent more children living through the agonising torment which I was forced to experience.
I hope you have a great day and look forward to hearing from you soon with your views and comments on this important issue,
