As a natural born entertainer... Elan began her career singing for one of the toughest crowds... her mother's Puerto Rican friends. At 12 years old, a Sunset Park, neighborhood friend, "Ox" introduced Elan, to an emerging successful Brooklyn, producer named, "Todd Terry". Upon their first meeting, Todd immediately offered the singer/songwriter a production agreement. Elan was on her way. Soon after, her first single "Here's Your Hat" was released on "Freeze Records". Proudly enough, the B-Side to her single "Love Change", was recorded with a young and well known Latino singer, "Marc Anthony". Her stint at Freeze records was a short lived one... since the company folded. This was not the end of young Elan's career. At 15, Strictly Rhythm records came calling and offered Elan her second Contract. Her single, "Better Than you", produced by "Charlie Baby", soon followed and charted the Dance Charts. Elan, traveled and did what she knows best... get a crowd moving! Strictly Rhythm Records, was sold to Time Warner and Elan was again found herself without a home. After taking some much needed time off from the music biz, to enter "Life's School Of Training", Elan has emerged with a more intense desire to entertain the world. Her Puerto Rican, Nuyorican roots can be felt throughout her music and lyric. Her style is infectious. She is currently in the studio and recording with Kuya productions, Noize Trip, D-Moet and a slew of other ground breaking producers. Elan, has something truthful to say about music! Her ability to captivate her audience through song and lyric is prolific! At 25 years old, Elan is ready to conquer the music world by injecting her sound and vitality into what is surely to become a long and prosperous career. Her third record deal, is surely on the horizons... and you know what they say... "Three is a charm"!
