Timothy Pollard is how his close friends and family know him; but about 10 years ago he took on the name, "TIMOTEO, EL CHARRO NEGRO" for his love and passion of Mariachi music. Originally from Dallas Texas he grew up in Southern California since the age of 8. Needless to say, this interesting mixing of the cultures is unique. Recently Timoteo served as the Master of Ceremonies for the 5th Annual Denver Colorado Mariachi Festival in the company of famous Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan.
Most notably, in Sacramento California in 2007, at a concert of the living legend Vicente Fernandez, Timoteo was invited onto the stage by the legend himself to sing a solo before his 10,000 seat sold-out concert. Gladly Timoteo sang "De Que Manera Te Olvido," The applause was thunderous as the audience stood to its feet. It is instances like this that leads one to believe that Timoteo "El Charro Negro" has a promising future in the unique and traditional form of music. He has also performed with famous artist Jose Feliciano and the beloved ‘Trio Los Panchos’ at the Hollywood Bowl. He was invited to appear as a guest on the popular TV show, ‘EscandaloTV de Noche’, starring well-known Latin personality, Charitin. Timoteo has perfomed on ‘Don Francisco Presenta" and Sabado Gigante", they air on the Univision Television Network.
Timoteo "El Charro Negro" has a current recording, "Me Regalo Contigo" that will ready for the market as soon as spring 2010. The recording is a combination of love ballads or boleros as you would have it, and vibrant songs as well.
