El Clan Destino is a musical powerhouse whose membership boasts four of the brightest stars in the Madison latin and jazz scenes.
The lineup includes: Nickolas Moran, of Madisalsa, The New Breed Quintet, and dUMATE on upright and electric bass and coro vocals; Jamie Ryan, of Africa West, The New Breed Quintet and the Jamie Ryan Trio, on congas, bata, percussion, lead and coro vocals; Vincent Fuh, of Madisalsa and The Oakwood Chamber Players, on piano, synth, and coro vocals; and Francisco Martinez, of Tony Castaneda Latin Jazz Sextet, on drumkit, timbales, lead and coro vocals.
The bands sound is an aggressive, eclectic mix of classic, sacred, folkloric and contemporary Afro-Cuban rhythms, with elements of jazz, funk, and hip-hop. The group continuously challenges the listener by pushing the envelope with ambitious, original compositions. Since their debut in June of 04, the buzz on this band has been huge, and growing with each of their stellar performances.
