About me:

TO RACK AND RUIN!

Since its inception in 2003, El Diablo’s Social Club has forged a reputation as one of Manchester’s best-loved underground nights. With its feet planted firmly on the psychedelic disco dancefloor, the vibe is open-minded and intimate partying with a distinctly wayward trajectory. Cosmic, disco, Balearic, italo and house are the focus, but other musical stops are made along the way. It’s all about dancing ‘til you drop and meaning it.

Following on from a long residency at The Deaf Institute, El Diablo’s have moved onto pop-up partying across a range of rave caves including dodgy boozers, derelict grocery shops, canal barges and cavernous club spaces. Recent EDSC festival appearances have included Glastonbury, Croatia’s Garden Festival and The Notting Hill Carnival.

The EDSC formula is simple – a collective of hardworking DJs, promoters and dancers coming together under the disco ball. Dressed up or down, the regulars are there for the music, misdemeanor and the potential for something special happening. And it usually does!

Over the years guest DJs have travelled far and wide to get involved, all looking for the chance to play to an open-minded crowd who love to party.

They have included: Prins Thomas (Full Pupp), Andy Butler (Hercules & Love Affair), Daniel Wang (Balihu/Environ) Mock ‘n’ Toof (DFA), Maurice Fulton (Tirk/DFA), Todd Terje (DFA), Rub ‘n’ Tug (DFA/WhateverWeWant), Toby Tobias (Rekids), Danny Krivit, Greg Wilson (Credit to the Edit), Jacques Renault (DFA), The Unabombers (Electric Chair), Kelvin Andrews (Creative Use), Padded Cell (DC Recordings), DJ Spun (Rong), Phoreski, Mudd (Rong), Crazy P (Live), Kathy Diamond (Live), James Yuill (Live), Weirdo Police (Live).

The musical heart and soul of EDSC was built on the foundations provided by the resident DJ Neil Scott. As a staffer at Piccadilly Records, Neil has been influencing the musical landscape in Manchester for over five years. He has played in London, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle, Bristol, Brighton, Japan, Ireland, Spain, France, Austria and Croatia at internationally recognised clubs, events and festivals such as The Garden Festival, Glastonbury, The Warehouse Project, Hed Kandi Nu disco room @ Space, Notting Hill Carnival, Futureverything, Back to Basics, Electric Chair and Sankeys, to name a few.
