Sounds Like
Nobody you've ever heard before or since! Sounds like a guy playing three guitars at once, playing a moving bass line, playing chords nobody's even heard before and adding accents, flourishes, intervals, figures and all kinds of musical idioms most people can't play at all - and Eldon did it all at once!
Please be patient - this is a work in progress! More music to come as well as photos, bio, memories and more! BTW - I am not Eldon as anyone who knew him should know - I 'm just running this place for him, his family, friends and fans. Hopefully you like what you see and hear. Please don't spam the comment section with html and links to sell something. I'll delete it. Let's keep this place clean and friendly and fun.
thankx 4 the add.eldon came out and tuned my piano in the late 70's,i didnt know just who he was then,he told me he played with bob and merle(i thought, yeah right)after he tuned the pianer,he took a look at my amps, fixed them, then sat me down and gave me a lecture on the "hazzards of the road"booze and dope.GOD bless ya. RIP
Greetings from Bakersfield, CA...thanks for the add. Great tribute page, to a truly great guitarist. My mom (Carolina) enjoyed working with him. Thanks for sharing his legacy.
I had a chance to play with Eldon and Tiny Moore and Joe Holley at a western swing festival in Sioux Falls featuring the Texas Playboys, The Red Willow Band and the Radio Rangers. What a treat!
Dear Eldon Shamblin site: Eldon was one of my all time heroes. I am honored for the request. Eldon and I played together some. I had to work hard to keep up with him, and he was twice my age! Thanks for the great tribute page. Billly Ward Fiddle
I fell in love with Eldon stuff when Merle's tribute to Bob came out. I saw Eldon live with Merle in Houston a few times. Great player. Nice rare vocal on you tube>http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=bcAjVGubf_s
