Eleanor Dubinsky is a St. Louis born singer and songwriter, cellist and guitarist living in New York City. She is also a dancer, choreographer and visual artist. Eleanor started playing Suzuki cello at the age of 3 after a preschool music teacher urged her parents to put her into music classes. Her songs tell of personal experiences in love and intimate relationships, and she draws on her classical cello background, new American soul, French pop and Latin rhythms for her compositions. Eleanor is influenced by a wide variety of song writers from the USA, Europe and South America including the Brazilian Girls, Iva Bittová, Bonnie Raitt, David Byrne, Joni Mitchell, Gillian Welch, CeU, Joan Osborne and others. ln 1999, Eleanor moved from Prague to New York City to be a contemporary dancer and choreographer and soon expanded her dance work to include video installation and musical composition. She was soon performing her own songs on cello and guitar in venues around town. In May 2009, Eleanor independently released her debut EP, 'Us'. She is currently recording an LP to be released in winter 2009. Eleanor is also part of the electro-chill out duo Playa Project, with Chilean guitarist and composer Caco Gallardo. Avec l'ensemble de Sound Painting ANITYA, nous allons jouer ce dimanche 18 octobre à 17h30 à La Nef 20 rue Rouget de L'Isle à Pantin métro Eglise de Pantin (attention ce dimanche la ligne est fermée entre république et Jaurès).
