Wednesday, October 29, 2008 Chasing the MuseTuesday Late Night at the Jet Lounge: Electra-Kill performing. I was there looking for my Muse. The crowd was thin but energetic. The weather was cold. Before the show I got a chance to have a drink with KILL X the guitar player for Electric Killaz. He was a fine piece of eye candy, Platinum blonde, white faced and big rose colored glasses. He was a nice though intense fellow, from Paris. Electra-Kill is the Cyber Chaotic band from the Underground of Paris. I love the French, and being an ignorant fool I expected the band to sound French. They sounded like tall surly Americans.
At the start of the show the lead singer, SAIDSO seemed a bit annoyed about something. Perhaps he wanted a bigger crowd (Tuesday after midnight, this is Houston). The people who were there seemed very happy to be insulted by SAIDSO. He frequently walked off the stage to sulk at the bar or to stomp on top of the bar. But dont get me wrong. He was being classic rock and roll in your face asshole, I was eating it up. In response to occasional cat calls he told the crowd to shut up and would respond to heckling with insults to our mothers! He sounded so genuine, this jaded reviewer was delighted.
He would leave the stage while the band played on.go get a drink, or sit in the corner and mess with his shoes. The Music was great. A very solid drummer pounding out the songs. A fine guitar and base combo. And the surly singers in spite of his attitude, belted out the songs with powerful energy and hardcore attitude. They even managed a rousing version of Olivia Newton Johns Lets Get Physical. Nothing fake about this band. I hope the rest of the tour goes well and I recommend you come out on a cold Tuesday night if they happen to be in your town soon. Churlish. Brash. U.S. Tour The Death of Venus 292.

ELECTRA-KILL, the Cyber Chaotic band formed in the Underground of Paris, France in 1998 by KILL X (Guitarist/Songwriter) and American Vocalist/Songwriter R.S. SAIDSO (The Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13), when their worlds collided at a Paris rehearsal studio. Tracking their first recordings only days later, these recordings would go on to become the sound of the new electronic movement. Soon they found themselves demoing 10 tracks that would later be released in 2000 as the Enema demos; this demo quickly started to spread like a new disease throughout the world, earning them the title, creators of "MUSIC FOR THE DOOMED GENERATION". They wasted no time on feeding the frenzy of music starved youth that couldn't get enough of the new movement. In early 2001 they recorded seven more tracks released as "THE OTHER LIE FORM". Late 2001- 2003 was spent writing and in pre production on the new material.
In early 2004 the Dynamic Duo once again returned to the Paris based recording studio le laboratoire where by March of 2004 vocal tracks had been completed and final mixes followed in August 2004. After finishing their recordings they flew to the City Of Angels Hollywood, California where they met with labels, management and distributors, no time was wasted in signing a major distribution deal with Synergy Media Group. Next it was off to Las Vegas, NV where they were set to shoot the video for their first single "Mint Girl" from their forth coming North American release. May 2005 "The Death of Venus 292" was released nation wide in the United States where it met rave reviews from all formats of media.
2005 Electra-Kill embarked on their first UK headlining tour dubbed "The Black Chirstmas" Tour, where they took London by storm amongst other major citys through out the UK. 2006 they made a return to the studio and more writing and recording. Summer of 2006 Electra-Kill finally made it's long awaited first North American concert appearence playing live one hot summer in Chicago, IL. .......
The international pairing of R.S. SAIDSO & KILL X have been making music for close to a decade together and have gained world wide recognition from the underground to the main stream press, media and fans a like with their aggresive, raw and honest take on the music that they make and believe in. They say they are driven by their own personal demons to create what they share with the world.
ELECTRA-KILL consists of two core members R.S. Saidso and KILL X who write, record, and produce all of their own music. For this process they have no need for a full band. A full band is assembled to perform all of the material live.
