We're a Kansas City based gospel, roots, old time, original, progressive Americana folk bluegrass band. We call it Soul-grass.
Band members are a family -- dad, mom, and daughter -- who make those close harmonies vibrate like only a family can.
Lead singer Alexis creates bluesy, soulful interpretations of contemporary gospel songs and writes inspiring tunes of her own. About her voice -- think Allison Krauss combined with Whitney Houston. I know, it's amazing.
Mom, Nancy, sings backup vocals and some leads. She plays mandolin with gusto. Speaking of family, she plays on a 1920s vintage Gibson mandolin that was owned in that era by a great uncle in Denver.
Dad, Paul, is an accomplished song writer and bluegrass guitarist. He also contributes some dynamite vocals and a bit of humor to the group's shows.
Various other fine musicians and friends join them to put out a fun sound and entertaining show.
Most notably, lately, good friends Luke and Susan from the Highwater String Band have been joining them on standup bass and fiddle.
