Electrocugat plays a stylish electronic lounge with some touches of humour. Musically, the album is based on bossa sounds and latin rithms like mambo and cha-cha-ch.. (that´s why Cugat is part of the name of the band). All these sounds are mixed with electronic basis and every kind of sampled effects.

The band was created in Barcelona in the 1999 by Arturo C. Urbina (composer and DJ) and Antuan Duanel (writer and guitar player). Arturo was the composer of the songs and Antuan was the writer of the lyrics. At the 2000, they began to record some tracks with the singer Paula Bances and the editor of their first album, Visconti con hielo was So Dens Records, from Barcelona. This album were licensed to Rambling records for their edition in Japan.

In 2001 So Dens published the EP Lounge Club Remixes, including remixes from the album Visconti and some new tracks. One of the tracks of the remixes album, Bungaloo,was part of the soundtrack of the popular TV-Catalunya program Afers exteriors.

After these, Arturo was working in different projects as a composer (soundtrack of the original web page of Custo-Barcelona, soundtrack of the short film Custo. The movie) and as a DJ (DJ resident in La Paloma club from Barcelona).

Finally, in 2003, Arturo begins the composition of his new album, Ladies cocktail. In this occassion, the lyrics are writen again by Antuan Duanel, but there are some new collaborations: the singers Luciana Lis (from Brasil), Rina Ota (from Tokio) and Dacil Lopez (from Barcelona) and the drummer Susana Pages (from Barcelona).

Rambling records from Japan has already get the license of one of the tracks of the new album, Siempre soy muy cool in order to include it in the compilation album Flying to the Cote DAzur.

LADIES COCKTAIL.

The new album from Electrocugat, Ladies cocktail, consists of 12 themes, coposed by Arturo C. Urbina, with lyrics writen by Antuan Duanel. The band goes on with the style of its first album: lounge-pop ambient, references to different ages and musical styles: from the 50s to Club, or from Mancini to Dee Lite. The lyrics, this time all in spanish, put all these sounds together. Almost every song describes a cinematographic character: the eternal fellinian drunkenness in De fiesta en la bo..te, the snob and casual journalist in Mrs. Brown or the little modern european girl, infatuated with a cuban fellow in De Varadero (A tu llavero ).

The voices of the singers, with its different registers and origins, round off this cocktail served by Electrocugat. Luciana Lis (from Rio de Janeiro) the main voice of the album, gives the sonority and feeling of brasilian performers. Rina Ota (from Tokio), who has colaborated before with the band, brings the most naif register along two themes. And finally, D..cil L..pez (from Barcelona), a consolidated soul singer who has reached her most intim register in this album. As a counterpoint of these three singers, the ..bice of Arturo takes the role played by Antuan in the first album.
