ELECTRONICALLY YOURS PRESENTS
EY6: MARSHEAUX
Plus MIKRO (LIVE)
‘Electronically Yours’ are pleased to announce that chic female synth duo
MARSHEAUX will return to the UK for the first time since 2008 to play one of
London's most stylish venues The Scala on THURSDAY 19TH NOVEMBER 2009.
Marianthi and Sophie will be performing choice tracks from their highly
acclaimed new album 'Lumineux Noir' which has become a bestseller for German label Out Of Line, reaching No1 on in the Musicnonstop Top10. Some have said it is one of the best electropop albums since DEPECHE MODE’s ‘Violator’.
MARSHEAUX made their UK live debut at the first ‘Electronically Yours’ event
two years ago, selling out the Hoxton Square Bar even though the girls were
relatively unknown at that time. MARSHEAUX have also played prestigious
support slots for OMD and ROISIN MURPHY in Greece.
Their most recent live appearance was at the alternative 'Amphi Festival'
this summer where Marianthi and Sophie performed to a capacity crowd in Cologne.
Although still with local parent label Undo via EMI Greece, since signing
internationally to Out Of Line in 2007, MARSHEAUX's irresistible mix of
classic pop hooks and analogue synthesis have seen them stretch their sophisticated appeal across Europe where they have gained a devoted following.
Brought up to the sound of the synthesizer and learning to dance to the beat
of electronic drums, Marianthi and Sophie lived on a healthy diet of THE HUMAN LEAGUE, DEPECHE MODE, OMD, DURAN DURAN, NEW ORDER and SPARKS. As one of modern electropop's leading acts with an arsenal of catchy tunes, they have attracted a number of prominent admirers. THE HUMAN LEAGUE played their track “What A Lovely Surprise” in the pre-show music for the 'Steel City' tour while BBC 6Music's Tom Robinson and Stuart Maconie have praised also their work. In a recent interview with ‘Electronically Yours’, OMD's Andy McCluskey said: “I do have a soft spot for MARSHEAUX I have to say. They have a certain sort of wispy, melancholic charm...”
‘Electronically Yours’ are also very pleased to have MARSHEAUX’s Undo label mates MIKRO opening the night. Making their debut UK appearance, MIKRO have a very successful career in Greece performing on national prime time TV as well as featuring on a recent high profile ad campaign.
The Scala in Kings Cross has played host to many genre faves over the years including a rare HEAVEN 17 back in 2005 and even the early electropop incarnation of SPANDAU BALLET for the Janet Street Porter documentary programme ‘20th Century Box’ in 1980. This lush venue will be the perfect home for the next MARSHEAUX concert and EY looks forward to seeing all everyone there!

A song that EY positively loves...Miss Kittin & The Hacker '1000 Dreams'
The new TTSW mini-album "Framed" (28 minutes of homespun lyrical electropop touching on Parisian cloth cutters, Covent Garden bars, architect's daydreams and even a jam on the M25 ) is now available. Not illustrious, unlikely to sell in copious quantities, and our small fanbase (from Germany to Glasgow) already in possession of their copies...but it is still synthpop, so hopefully you won't mind the mention.
Regardless of the above, wishing you continued success with all things EY...and thanks for supporting electronic music.
Hi, Like to invite you to have a listen to another new song "I'm Not Coming Back to You" Stop by for a listen when you can Keep us posted Bye for now Julie www.juliennemusic.net (coming soon)
After their great debut release "Fantasia Meccanica", the italian act HIDDEN PLACE return with an all new and long-expected album! "PUNTO LUCE" continues along the same pathtraced by its predecessor. Deep sonorities are alternated with moments of emotionalism and refinement, underlined above all by more atmospheric sounds, that constantly influence this album. Harmonious female vocals from the beautiful singer Sara Lux are opposed with the cold tones of the vocoder. An elegant mix of electro and new wave give a precise evocation of art, of the painting of a picture, of the beauty of colours and light. The album also features vocal and mixing contributions from Gaby Nekro of NEKRODAMUS.
our first Album "Restart" is out now and you can hear some short Tracks of the Album in our Player. Feel free to listen to the Songs and leave a Comment.
