The history of this band already starts in early 2004 when four guys from Großefehn began to make some music.
But that first formation was not really successful. It took about one year until the band was reformed in 2005. After the moval to the new practising room the band was full of enthusiasm and creativity.
Unfortunately this fast development was stopped when the first drummer had to quit the band as a result of private problems. After attempting to find a new drummer - hobby-musicians to professionals - the professional, who played for the band most time during this brake, later recommended the actual drummer.
Already at the first time he played in this band he was astonished because he finally found a band that was playing exactly the music he prefers.
So, with a new drummer, new zest and finally a real bandname this formation moved ahaed with big steps. "Elegy For An Icon" in it's actual formation was born.
With a mixture of Hardcore, Emo and good pieces of Alternative Rock this band started it's career in music business.
Characterizing melodies and thundering riffs the five boys from Großefehn entered their journey on the long way of the vast wolrd of music.
So we want to thank everyone who supports us!
On 13th of September 2008, Elegy for an Icon played their last show.
All five bandmembers decided to retreat with the band for creating new songs with a new style and to come back in spring 2009 with new energy and a new name.
Elegy for an Icon will no longer exist as known. So the band wants to thank all of you for your support.
