Video Files I've included a couple of films below. The first one is my introduction video, where I am talking a bit about Climate Change and why it is an important issue for me. Please enjoy! This is a short video, a collaboration between Canberra's beautiful Andi and George Band and Kerrie Tucker's daughter Kate. Georgeous. Please share! This is a video taken from a forum that was run in August called 'Who To Trust'. This video sums up why Kerrie Tucker will make a fantastic Senator. What a beautiful and genuine person. This final video is an important one to have here on my page. As a young person I am particularly aware of the issues young people face, and the things that most need addressing. As a young person I am proud to represent a party that supports FREE HIGHER EDUCATION. This short video is of Senator Bob Brown talking about the party's commitment to free tertiary education, with no HECS.

About me:

Welcome to my MySpace!

My name is Elena Kirschbaum and I'm the ACT Greens second Senate candidate for the 2007 Federal election.

I am a 22 year old small business owner. I work as a performance artist and event manager and have been involved with many of Canberra’s biggest community events. I previously worked as a community development facilitator in a community organisation, and as an event manager I have worked primarily within the community sector.

I am passionate about young people in politics. Politics is seen as a bit of an 'old mans game' and I hope that by standing as a candidate I can make young people see that it is our game - it's our future after all!

It is a particularly important time to be standing, as the Coalition Government has made changes to the Electoral Laws, making it even more difficult for young people to engage in politics, simply by voting! But it is not our reponsibility that we are missing out on. It is our right. Our right to choose a Government that best represents what we want and what we need. The Coalition has shown time and time again that that is not them. The changes to the Electoral Laws, the IR and Work Choices reforms and VSU are all prime examples of where this Government has let us down. It is time for a change of Government. It is time for a new Australia that we can be proud of.

In the ACT in this coming federal election Canberrans can make a huge difference. The ACT has the most marginal Senate seat in the country and the Coalition has control of the Senate by only one seat. Only 9000 votes will mean the difference between Coalition holding or losing that majority. That makes the ACT the most important place in the country to be voting this election. You can find out more about Kerrie Tucker, the Greens first Senate candidate at her Myspace - www.myspace.com/kerrietucker or her website www.kerrietucker.org.au.

Best wishes,

Elena Kirschbaum

Rescue the Senate: All that's needed is 9,586 voters changing their mind in the ACT, or a swing of just 3% in Victoria or 5% in South Australia for the Government to lose their absolute power.

ACT Liberal Senator Gary Humphries has the Howard government's most vulnerable Senate seat. With your support we could unseat the Coalition Senator and Rescue the Senate from Howard government control.

Hi Elena!! You may have already gathered (from my comment on Kerrie's page) that I was raised a Canberra boy. Now am too bald to be a boy.

Thanks for your add request. This is such an important time for green values. I hope Ive made a difference with this website.

Else in common: at age 18 I attended Canberra School of Art. Family have encouraged me to take up something like that again. Would've done something again soon, but suddenly got unemployed right now. If theres anything going in the greens keep me in mind. Great public speaker, good thinker. All the right degrees fro saving the planet with algae. More to the point, Im very peple centred, good mates with people for all industries and all walks of life. I see people for what they, are and I appreciate what their intentions are and what their aspirations are.

Ah, what art and science will do to a person!

Guess I'll be picking herbs for a living (Adelaide Hills) or cooking pizza, or similar with ina week. The planet will have to wait a few months.

Sorry for the long comment. Its a performance piece
:-)

Thanks again for the add sister, it means a real lot to me. Will invite ya to my other sites aswell.

Intelligence and youth, and get up and go, and confidence! you've got it all!
