I have worked in the Music industry since I was 17. Being a professional in the music industry was not my intention (in the beginning); I wanted to be involved with arts and traveling. Somehow I sticked to both..yes, Music is art and you get to travel!!!!
My journey started as a college radio host in Mexico. Soon, the opportunity of moving to San Francisco arrived, since then, I have practically worked every aspect of the latin rock scene. From writing articles, managing bands, importing and selling latin rock CD..S, producing concerts for bands wich include, Café Tacuba, Maldita Vecindad, Tijuana no, etc.,, and even producing a music video TV Shows in fresno for more than a year.
After working 3 Years with Aztlan Records (First label to sign and record latin bands based in United States) in San Francisco, I moved back to Mexico to work with different established bands as tour manager. but destiny brought me six months later to the United States again, this time, thanks to Gustavo Santaolalla, who highly recommeded me to work with Universal Latino to start the Latin alternative department, and our first project was the release of Molotov..s debut album “Donde jugaran las niñas” along with all the surco label repertoire (Santaolalla..s own label, a joint venture with Universal Music Latino).
The experience at UNIVERSAL MUSIC LATINO lasted eight years. In those years i had the oportunity to meet and work with many people who surely made an impact in my life.
I am currently doing what passionates me the most, work with music, but this time I am independent. Few months ago, I opened my own office in North Hollywood. A new adventure and a bigger challenge...
After reading all this, you migth think that I should have created my own band (and I think the same!!), but I never played an instrument. Damn!!!!. I love bass, I tried to play it, but I was not born to be a musician.
