Melbourne band Elephant Gun could easily be defined by the following 3
words: ROCK, ROCK, and more ROCK!!!
But they are much more than just that.
Elephant Gun have gained a name for themselves through powerful live
sets, and catchy melodic rock tunes that gained high rotation on Triple J
and other national stations.
After numerous live appearances on Channel V, and the release of their first
single, Cataract, Elephant Gun set out on a rigorous tour of the Eastern
seaboard and Southern States of Australia, whilst also claiming the opening
spot on tour for some of Australia's biggest bands: Powderfinger, Shihad,
and Grinspoon.
Following on from appearances at the Big Day Out and the Falls Festival,
Elephant Gun parted ways with Roadrunner Records having released an EP and a full length album, ALBINO, through the label. ALBINO received critical acclaim and rave reviews
in the nations music press.
Following an extended hiatus in which Elephant Gun have written and recorded more than a full length album worth of material, the band has produced some of it's most edgy and in your face songs with the assistance of producer Matt Maddock (Something for Kate/Dan Kelly).
They have been performing recently which has brought many new fans to the fold after a number of their new tracks were made available on their Myspace page.
The band have a new lease on life, and now display a more mature sound to
their music. They have just completed a 5 track promo E.P entitled NOW TO
SURVIVE which is sure to turn some heads in the Australian music scene. NOW TO SURVIVE features not only the overall talent that exists within the band, but also the rare qualities that each of the 4 members bring to the band.
From the guitar riffs of Mick Barrett and Todd Angus,
the power packed bass of Sean Dennis, and the crisp hard
hitting drum sound brought on by Simon Murphy, these songs will have you
hooked. Add in the gifted vocals of Todd Angus and you will see why Elephant Gun should be in everyones music collection
