Spring 2006 i went with my church on a mission trip to mississipi for hurricane katrina relief and it was the most rewarding experience of my life!! if you get a chance to volunteer like that...DO IT!! it is hard work but the blessings are endless...no words can describe the overwhelming joy.I JIS LURVE ME SOME GOD
*nothing is more inspiring than seeing a baby sea turtle crawl it's way back to the ocean without it's mother...few make it before being eaten, but the ones that do swim against the current & press on to wage the mighty ocean. isn't that such a beautiful thought??-dawn frost

i luv r&b, soca, gospel, hip hop,& afro-beat...sometimes i slow jam, sometimes i turn up the beat. i love leela james and anthony hamilton...the soul singers of our time. i don't like any music that glorifies drugs, violence, racism, or promiscuous sex. i mean, i do listen to music that isn't necessarily under a christian label, but i don't like anything that God wouldn't be pleased with. i miss this program on B.E.T. called Midnight Love.
Movies
A Christmas Story is my favorite movie because it reminds me of my childhood. other favorites include The Color Purple, The Diary of Anne Frank, Save The Last Dance, Two Can Play that Game, Crash, Cool Runnings, and The Passion of the Christ. i really enjoy movies that deal with social issues/ real life situations and teach you how to deal and that life goes on even though it is a struggle...and you know i gotta laugh so i love a good comedy. i'm sorta a big kid too...i luv animated movies.
Television
i love Comic View on B.E.T.! i would rather watch 106&Park than MTV because they actually play MUSIC (gasp)IMAGINE THAT!!! and 80s cartoons are still HOT!! i luv the Fraggles & the Smurfs.
Books
THE BIBLE, The Diary Of Anne Frank, & i luv to read stories little kids write cuz they are so real & haven't lost the vivid imagination God intended for us.

About me:
my name is DAWN...use the 'w'...not don...i hate when southern people do that...and don't think it can't get worse... cuz when i point this out to them and they try to sound it out they're all like "Daa- OWN"...u know what???...THAT AIN'T COOL! I HATE HUGS AS WELL!!!! people be all touchy feely for no freakin' good reason... kinda makes me wanna reach WAAAAAYYY back and slap dem mugs! anyways,i'm a christian, a vegetarian and a nerd who never gets dates. i'm sarcastic, but i'm good-hearted at the core. i would rather deal with a real sinner than a fake christian. i never want to be rich because there's just something about the striving that gives meaning to life...and yet i am rich...IN SOUL. I LIVE TO LAUGH, I LOVE TO PRAY!.
Who I'd like to meet: 1) jesus when i get to heaven.

Life is sometimes like a song some days the notes are sharp and exciting other days they are flat and off-key but no matter how the tune goes it's a blessing to be around to experience the melody.
poetic frost,
Still writing haiku? If so, when you're done, please check out my novel.
STORY SYNOPSIS:
Manjani Jackson is a mouthy New York teenager who believes her life’s purpose is to lead her “deaf, dumb, and blind” brothas and sistahs into The Revolution. On one of the worst days of her life, tragedy strikes, landing her at an all white school. Although she is working on getting along, the racist students make it impossible, and before long, the administration crosses the line, forcing Manjani into political action. Then one of her events gets out of hand, sending her on the run. Her journey leads to a place where bittersweet lessons about liberation are learned as her comrades turn against her. Only tough love, spiritual revelations, and self-determination will help her find her place in the struggle.
