LISTEN TO THE NEW ALTAR and DJ SANTA FE REMIX OF GOOD MOOD http://www.myspace.com/djsantafe----------------------
ELEPHONIC Portishead meets The Weekend Players with Elephonic, a four-piece group led by Anne Montone, whose sweet voice offers the whimsy of Rachel Foster and the subtle intensity of Bjork. Together with Eddie Barajas on turntables, Jennifer Cook on keyboards, and Joe Funkle on drums, Elephonic delivers an intimate show that is at once sexy and innocent, joyful, and sad. Often elusive, whether playing soulful downtempo, sexy trip-hop, or experimental broken beat, their intimate show leaves you pondering the meaning of life, love, and, yes, happiness - LA.Flavorpill.Net (AM)
Elephonic:
"......their creative partnership blossomed, but the girls felt their music was missing something...so they turned to Eddie, a mutual friend and DJ. "I set up my turntables on the floor and we would powwow around them, creating our own beats," Eddie recalls. "It started to come together." And right there - three friends huddled around the turntables, sharing ideas - Elephonic was born." Lisa Jenkins--------------------------------------

Check out what critics have to say:
"As sweet and gentle as it is, Quinceañera is quite clear-eyed about human cruelty and indifference."
Kevin Thomas, Los Angeles Times
"An untidy, vital slice of Latino life with a loving sense of place and a giddy, improvised feel."
Ella Taylor, Village Voice
"A we're-down-with-the-locals indie kitchen-sink drama."
Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly
"A doubter's parable, the film's story is built on one ironic juxtaposition after another and told in a manner so devoid of irony, that one begins to wonder how the filmmakers could keep their balance in such a gale of metaphysics. But they do."
John Anderson, Newsday
"This is a fresh, spirited drama, charming and unpretentious."
David Rooney, Variety
"Quinceañera, a portrait of a Mexican-American family in Los Angeles, is as smart and warmhearted an exploration of an upwardly mobile immigrant culture as American independent cinema has produced."
Stephen Holden, New York Times
"A FUNNY AND TOUCHING TALE. LYRICAL AND EMOTIONALLY
RIGOROUS."
Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
"A RICH HUMAN COMEDY. A FILM THAT IS SERIOUS, JOYFUL,
AND FILLED WITH HEART."
Roger Ebert, Chicago
Sun-Times
"LUMINOUSLY PLAYED. THE THEMES OF FAMILY PRIDE AN
PREJUDICE PROVE TO BE UNIVERSAL."
Steven Farber,
Movieline
"A WONDERFUL MOVIE. THE NICEST SURPRISE OF THE
SUMMER."
Leonard Maltin
"A TERRIFIC FILM."
"CHARMING, MOVING AND DELIGHTFUL."

Really enjoyed Bailarina Plastica. Reminded me a lot of Sgt. Peppers. Very inventive music. Not your average sound. Thanks for the friend posting. Dan/TheWorkers BUY EAST BRONX EPIPHANY

Hi there Elephonic first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
Many people wanted to use us in the future so if you were one of those people make sure you bookmark the link below so that in the event that we do close our myspace account you won't lose contact with us. I wish you the best of luck in your music career. Thanks again for being our myspace pal.
We have also built a pretty big music community which you are welcome to join if you want to meet new artists like yourself!
