We are influenced by the music we hear. By independent artists and major label artists. From Motown to metal, hard rock to hip hop, classic jazz to punk. We are influenced by the people around us, the city we live in and the lives we have lived. We are influenced by change and adaptation. We are influenced, but not tainted. We are eclectic.
When you meet the five members of eleveneighty, you’ll notice very quickly just how little they have in common. Actually, other than the music and the crooked building in which brought them together (their namesake happens to be in the shadows of the Bell Center at 1180 St. Antoine West), Mitch, Rachelle, Franko, Will and Tara have followed very different paths. Those differences, however, make all the difference.
When Franko and Rachelle met back in 2004 during an audition she did for the electronica band he composed and played keyboards for, they had no idea they would still be at it five years later, only they’d be going down a much different road. In 2005, when an underground hip hop producer moved his studio in next door, Franko and Rachelle met Mitch, a die-hard musician who basically lived in his studio in order to record and produce his beats and learn new instruments in between days filled with recording other artists. Immediately they began collaborating on each other’s tracks and discovered an incredible chemistry.
