Influences
Not so much influences, but bands that we like! In no particular order:
Oasis, Radiohead, Muse, Pulp, The Doors, The Beatles, Kate Bush, Psychedelic Furs, Nirvana, Iron Maiden, System of a Down, Manic Street Preachers, Guns "n" Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin.
Elevensixes were born in Sept/Oct 2004 and lasted to 2007.
Diane had been writing songs for years and thought the time was right to unleash them on an unsuspecting public! The first intention was to have 2 guitarists, a bassist, a drummer and a singer. Mark and Diane both played guitar and none of them were keen on fronting a band. However, as time spun by, Elevensixes changed formation! Mark ditched the guitar and picked up a bass and Diane became accustomed to singing. All that remained was to find a drummer. This of course, is easier said than done. We auditioned one drummer but it was not to be. We then acquired the services of Mark's friend Andy as a temporary measure until he returned to London for Uni. As we have picked up more gigs, we have used the services of both German Dave and Jim (MacDuff) McDonald for certain gigs/jam sessions. It is Jim's drumming techniques that you can hear on the MP3's.
Elevensixes have now disbanded as Diane awaits the arrival of her first baby.

Ach, dinnie worry 'bout it, just get yersel down to the Cowgate gig, 'cos my new band are awesome (especially compared to my old band, who were awful!)
You didn't pick up on it through all the plugs on Centralscene either! ;-) Aye, no a bad wee night you missed! I'm gonna try and get up to play somewhere in Stirling soon, even if it's just one of the open-mics, been missing playing up there, so I'll no doubt see you before too long. And if you can get to Edinburgh March 10th, my new band are playing The Subway Cowgate!
The Conviction are playing Rockers Glasgow on Wed 20th December, if you can make it along, we'd be glad to see you there and there are also a few decent bands playing on the night.
