the history of the band..................................................................................
Fronted by Mari Hubley, (a.k.a.Maribyrd) a singer/songwriter from Denville, NJ, Maribyrd was the 1st 'oficial band name.' The four original members are Mari, Joe Mollitor, Ryan Headley, and Scott Brown. Mari and Joe have been playing and writing music together since high-school in the early 90's. Ryan met Mari during open mic night at The Lockwood Tavern one fateful evening in 2000...it was love at 1st note;) Last to join the "core" of the band was Scott Brown, a former bandmate and long-time friend of Ryan's, tying everything together with his funky percussion. The most recent change in line-up has been the swapping of Scott on Percussion (who has been busy taking care of his beautiful daughter:) to Kathy Hubley, rocking the drums and percussion, and adding her sweet harmonies.

Joe's Basement...Maribyrd's debut album, was recorded in 2 barns, a gunshack,
and a doctor's office. It is available by e-mailing Mari@eleven-ten.com, by stopping by The Acoustic Cafe in Rockaway, NJ, or of course by coming to a show!! The 14 song album is chock full of some of the greatest talent in North Jersey, recorded by Alan "Jax" Bowers who also played the drumkit, fiddle by Timmy Carbone-courtesy of Sugar Hill Records, Chris Farrelley, Pete Marceau of Hero Pattern, Ronnie Grana of Straight Dope Cherry, all 3 of Maribyrd's sisters singing harmonies and of course Uncle Bob from Seattle on the keyboard.

Happy Holidays! Hope you’re enjoying the season so far. Seems it has been quite some time since I spent some time on Myspace. I have been busy altering my website at www. tonycowger. com to reflect my newest efforts in the freelance and ghost writing markets and focus less on my own novel. Anyway, I hope the rest of your year is wonderful and that the new year holds all the abundance you want. If you or someone you know is in need of some writing help please send them my way at www. tonycowger. com. (For any help I receive from my Myspace friends I am offering a 10% finders fee to say thank you for helping out a friend so be sure to write and let me know in case your friend forgets to tell me. If you hire me yourself, that 10% would be taken off what you pay so, either way, you win.) I have experience in writing sales ads/presentations, non-fiction and, of course, fiction. Thanks and happy holidays!
