My name is Amanda, and I'm rebelling against social convention by being normal, and acknowledging I'm nothing special. There aren't many things I really dislike: arrogance, disloyalty, blind faith, blind rebellion, and willful ignorance are the major ones.
I'm a misanthropist and generally a loner, but highly loyal, and I'd do absolutely anything for the people I care about. I love intelligent conversations (even occasionally have them on MSN - go Ash!), and being able to do my own thing. I dislike the fact that people never take me seriously, that some people take themselves too seriously, and the whole idea of trying to be something you're not. I'm quiet about the important things, unless one day I find someone who'll listen. And I'm definitely not a fan of the dramas people entangle themselves in. Learn to walk away.
I'm enrolled at the University of Sydney; majoring in Archaeology. I have no time or respect for rich kids who go to university purely to get drunk. Don't believe the hype, university is not for the intelligent.
I'm also vegan, passionate about animal rights and (human) social equality, especially between the genders. I'm naive and inexperienced in a lot of the ways of the world (and not afraid to admit it).
Get this... Next year as part of our arts degree we could study a music subject entitled 'Music Festivals and their Administration" and the summary of the subject says it is 'mainly practical' and that we'd be 'attending' festivals... I'd so do it to get into things!...i wonder if you'd get in free..i wonder if i'd see roooooock stars...baahahaaha
I haven't been to collect shells and rocks for a while here, I must do it soon as now there will adctully be some as it is too cold for ppl to swim. I'm free all this week except saturday night so if any time is good fo you it's good for me, we usually eat tea around 8:00-8:30 my time. Like your blog about modern studies finally catching up on acient ones, very well done I think.
Cool! I promise to be your weekly reader and to try to convert others bwahaha
um, if you wanna call that would be good. Mum and Dad are calling monday arvo , sat I'm making salami at rod's parents house! eww, sun joe is coming over so if you aren't doing anything, do you want to call tonight? If not anytime through next week is good. Hope you have a great long weekend if I dont speak to you before then
Oh sweet score, I'd be happy with the two g anyday.Lol, you are a funny girl. But nah noone really new.. don't ask don't tell you know :P haha I'm sure he doesnt hate you, theres a fine line between love and hate you know ;) So whats this guy like? Fill me in. Yeah Its hard to find a decent cash in hand job, I'm going to be in the exact same situation next year if its any consolation. Or you could just work the streets. Ha, I kid ofcourse. The witchcraft idea sounds funnky! I actually havn't seen any great films lately but I am really interested in this show called "The Wire" You heard of it? Its on at 12AM tonight which suits me just fine. You could probably catch it depending when you read this message and if you can be fucked. I've read a little about it and it sounds awesome. I think it dwells on Amercian city life and crooked cops and criminals etc. It might not be 'fantastical' (if thats the right word) enough for you though. Oh also I watched 25th hour with Edward Norton a while ago which was a good movie. And I'm still hooked on my Oz dvds lol. What about you? You seen any films worth mentioning? Or read any good books? Have you read "Life Of Pie"? I have always wanted to read it cause looks really interesting. I like animal stuff hee. Oh my god this comment is so long. Next time I write to you I'm just gonna make it an email. I can't be bothered to change it now because I'm already in the comment box thing and my computer takes ages to load on anything once its in a link. Ohh I wish you were here this weekend, going out sat night getting fucked up. What else is new? Still chowing on chick peas? Those things were soo yummy!! I'm going now before I talk anymore shit. Miss yoooou xoxox
Yeah its pretty new so it should be easy. I lived in Homebush West, very close to the city and very surbaban like.. oh no shit ay you are doing hecs, that wont last long though I'm sure one of those scholar deals will pick you up in no time. No time at all ha. I work on average about 20-25 hours a week at target, its not nearly enough but theres nothing else going. How bout you you landed a job yet? Are you looking for anything specific etc? And how is the love life going? Any developments? :D xoxo
I know this comment thing is syyyyyco I really need msn back. O so your a total vegan now, how is that going? Oh thats lame about everyone being lame, when I lived there the most people were pretty cool. I guess your living in a different area in Sydney or something? Maybe your just at a snobby school hehe. Hay have you read "Remainder" By Tom McCarthy? You really should, noone else I know has read it and I really want to talk about it with someone that could probably explain things I didn't get in the book. I also think you'd like it, it dwells heaps on memory and stuff. And its pretty original.. hard to explain but read it :D Btw are you on some scholarship deal for uni cause your not doing hecs ay? xoxo
Oh man that sucks about the people being just like in Dubbo! Why do they hate you? Yeah I go out quite a bit, not really anymore unless theres a reason to. Haha nah I didn't mean all uni kids are bad, just the general impression I get sometimes, Btw you got my msg right? Just making sure I got the right number. I know I miss your little apartment, that place was sick. Was done up so cool with all your witchcraft pegan things and what not, lol. And was a nice spot to have pre-drinks :) Ha and remember rice cheese cakes? I went insane over them for a while. Awesome. :D xoxo
Ha yeah right 'just passing' :P if your lazy the rest of us must be total dead beats, which is pretty accurate now i think about it, yeah i'm still at target and at the golfclub- oh nice op shopping i remember when we actually found some good scores in the thrift stores in cooma that was fun hay, i dont think im living on campus probably renting out with my sister and her boyfriend, uni kids seem kinda lame, no offence lol, are you on campus atm? xoxo
I looked through all my recieved files etc and cant find it! Please dont hate me! Damn that was so long ago ay? All I have saved from us are like 5 conversations where were very, very happy lol :P Is your hair that long now? Mad! Oh nothing much new, I got a new phone cause I spilt coke all over the last one I'll message you the number, you'll have to send me yours too cause my sim card got fucked. I'll have msn next year once I get a lappy for uni..speaking of which hows your studies going? Acing them, I spose. xoxoxo
Yeah about a month ago I had some serious roots I got them done, and I use this weird purple shampoo that keeps it platinum. Lately I've had a lot of people say to me 'is your hair blonder?' so I guess it works haha.
It's so expensive, though, which is why I let it grow out so much before I get it done again haha.
why is that funny? yeah well some friends of mine were planning a trip up sometime soon so i'll be in touch it will be easier next year when im living in canberra and get my sisters car
hay gorgeous mad picture, i know i miss you too! this town is doing my head in haha just been working lots and doing all the other useless things, how are you? hows school going? hope your well take care of yourself now kitten :) xoxoxo
Ahaha..what else is myspace for but stalking... and procrastinating...which im guessing we're both doing..right about now... I bought space boots today....
LOL damn gluten free girl! I love doing a huge shop - I feel so satisfied afterwards - but then I eat a little bit of everything and then it all slowly goes off. I know what you mean about cooking - I've been trying to be good with that lately. I enjoy it much more these days - but getting up the motivation after work is hard sometimes - although I'm caffined up on coke right now so I think I'll have lots of energy tonight.
Cant believe mum and dad didn't even tell me you've gone home. scabby drunk parents..maybe I should send my scabby drunk boyfriend to live with them heh heh that would put the cat amongst the pigeons! Things have been going better with me and Rod so that is good.
All good about not getting to talk - Dad talked to me for about half an hour or more (truly strange) and then I was so worn out from humouring him I had to go to bed LOL
Not much on this weekend, just a quiet one I think, really need to go and see Fabz though. Miss him lots. What about you? Good luck with assignments
I'd like to read your current piece when you're done if you dont mind.
Not much is new - Rod and I are getting along alot better through trying - thankfully at last!
Kim is trying to get me to go to dubbo for the scattering of Dwayne's ashes - but I really cant afford to and cant afford time off, oh well. I understand it has hit her alot harder than I as she went out with him for a bit when we were younger.
Curently eating tuna pasta bake and enjoying teh really slow day we are having atwork - doesn't happen often. My desk is sooo neat.
