Missoula, Montana middle school science teacher Jim Litz was riding his bike to school when he hit a bear.
Litz was traveling about 25 mph when he saw the bear directly in front of him. After t-boning the black bear, the two cartwheeled down the road. The bear got up, scratched his back and ambled off the road while Litz lay dazed and confused on the road.
Why are they changing the bike lane on Walnut (Avenue in Elgin) between Wilcox (Avenue) and South (Street)? Didn't they just put that bike lane in this summer?
Answer: A bike lane was added on Walnut Avenue this summer, but it caused several businesses to lose parking spaces, according to Steve Pertzborn, senior engineer for the city of Elgin.
The city came up with an alternative, creating a shared use lane that allows for parking but also is designated as a bike lane, he said. There will be new signage and pavement markings alerting motorists and bicyclists of the share use lane.
Only one block along Walnut -- from Wilcox Avenue to South Street -- is affected by this change, he said.
Discover what happens when your streets turn into parks. The first-ever Sunday Parkways, Oct. 5 and 26, will close streets to cars and open them to people for walking, biking, skating, dancing and playing. Sunday Parkways runs along Chicago’s historic boulevards, connecting Logan Square, Humboldt Park, Garfield Park, North Lawndale and Little Village neighborhoods, and displaying the vibrant culture of Chicago’s communities along the way. The route will be lined with physical activity stations where people can come together for exercise and fun. The space will be free for all to enjoy and build healthy bodies and communities. www. biketraffic. org/sundayparkways.

Lost on May 16th at my house the night I hosted the show for Prizzy Prizzy Please and the Coke Dares.
Message me if its yours and I'll give it back to you.
P.S.- To the owner: sorry it took me so long to post this, it just dawned on me that this would be a good way to return it to its owner. I hope you've been warm through the summer without it.

May 28 - June 1: Bicycle Film Festival, NY The Bicycle Film Festival was born out of the urban bike culture of New York City. Celebrating the bicycle, the fest is about all styles of bikes and biking. What better way to celebrate these lifestyles than through art, film, music and performance? The festival brings together all aspects of bicycling to advocate its ability to transport us in many ways. Ultimately the Fest is about having a good time: films, parades, block parties and art shows - all bike themed. For a full list of festival events and showtimes, visit the Bicycle Film Festival site: http://www. bicyclefilmfestival. com
