Although Anglo, EL GRINGO learned to speak Spanish while working with Mexican vaqueros on his family's cattle ranch in El Paso.
With Norteno & Ranchera music blaring on the truck radio, EL GRINGO would ask his vaquero friends to explain the lyrics to him, and he picked up the language over time. EL GRINGO grew to love this style of music and also developed a great appreciation for these hard working immigrants, whom he pays tribute to in his new song "El Corrido Del Gringo".
